I certainly hope so.

I hate the Patriots, but I love what Cam does to the boards.

Dude really? It wasn't about 2 starting Qbs it was about the constant bs about Gus not getting Qbs prepared. Sounds to me like 2 are prepared and just so happens they both end up on the same team so both can't start but knowing Cam's history the past few seasons I wouldn't say that Cam will make it through the season and both don't get starting time under their belts this season. Do you really want to go down this path with me? I've tried being reasonable with you over here but that can end anytime you want it to.

And I'll add to even further my point unless some freak injury or something happens. Bo Nix will also be a pro QB. That will mean every QB Gus has coached for their final season in college except Johnson/White fiasco will have become an NFL player under Gus. Frick isn't JF3 even signed as a free agent somewhere trying find a specialist spot.

My guess is, Stidham is showing his real colors and Bill had to make a move.

He is never going to be an effective NFL QB

NEVER

I can understand, you are expressing your opinion, but to base it on NO regular season experience is premature to me.

But he would have been only the 2nd QB to start in the NFL after being a pick later than 3rd round, and not playing in his first year with a team...

Bellichick did a smart thing to bring in a seasoned experienced QB at no cost basically, to win the starting job and give NE a better chance to continue winning their division.

But as a STeeler fan this puts me a serious bad mood. The only time Auburn has put 2 QBs in the NFL that was a starter or a potential starter HAS to be with the same team...and the team I hate...

My 2020 year is really going bad...

Lets see what happens. Im gonna bet you that Stidham does not end up doing well. Though I would love for him to burn the NFL up. I just dont see it.

Watching his play last year pretty much confirmed it for me. He looked like I thought he would look.

Lets just see how things go.

I hope I get to eat crow. I have done it before. And I have been right before.

That's the way I feel. I agree, I have my doubts too, as I saw Stidham even in college not handle the pocket well, which has nothing to do w/ coaching. Some QBs just have that instinct.

But in the NFL he is getting better QB tutelage and retraining. All he needs is game experience.

His toughest issues are going to be mental. After being behind the GOAT for 1 year, and the NE fans used to great success for what, about 15 years, they are not going to let Stidham make a lot of mistakes and cost them games before they would want the backup.

Now with Cam, I don't see Stidham starting until Cam gets hurt or just doesn't produce.

Last, I only had a response when you said NEVER. Its too early to see that result, IMO...

There was a former Patriots staffer who was sourced talking about how Newton's style fits perfectly with Belichick's post lockout strategy.

Belichick in 2011 labor dispute supposedly was most worried about his team being out of shape / form due to limited practice/training camps/OTAs. Also, very hard to install new concepts / integrate new players

Newton's dual threat style punishes opponents who aren't in form + spread style dual threat concepts are notoriously easy to install.
