More people got on board for the Harsin hire than the Chizik hire.
I was onboard for both. I remembered Chizik as a DC. He was better than Muschamp at Auburn and Texas. In fact, both programs' defenses regressed under Muschamp. I thought his stint at ISU was an unwinnable job at the time. Figured he might have learned from his failures and been able to start fresh. He took us to the BCS and won, so I can't hate on him.
I had to figure out who Harsin was and talk myself into liking the hire.
I don't want to talk myself into liking anymore bullshite hire.

That is pretty accurate for me too.

Just kidding.

I think Grimes would be a very good coach for AU. He won't win the press conference nor do we need him to. We need him to put together a recruiting staff like the one he was a part of under Chiz. He does that he gets his 7 years of support from most. Even though he's been successful in play calling since he started I would like for him to be a CEO type head coach.

I feel like Hars has unified the fanbase finally.

Hoke put out an insider article about the AD/HC search so here's a rundown: — Hartwell is still the front runner, but McGlynn is pushing hard and is under consideration — Hoke believes Harsin will remain until after the season due to the HC candidates Auburn is interested in and the coordinators being loyal to Harsin and if he's removed they'll leave too. There'd be too much upheaval firing him before then, everything's subject to change but that's where everything's trending as of RN. — If a hot board had been put out a few weeks ago the names on there would've been: Kentucky HC Mark Stoops Liberty HC Hugh Freeze Baylor OC Jeff Grimes Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin Jackson State HC Deion Sanders Cincinnati HC Luke Fickell Alabama Associate DC Charles Kelly Since then a Stoops hire lost momentum, Kiffin would cost $9M (that's a lot of money after paying buyouts for Gus and Harsin along with the potential personality clash between Kiffin and the PTB plus Kiffin wants to wait until either Bama or A&M come open.) Neither Kelly nor Fickell gained traction outside of a few. Grimes would have universal support among the PTB and Administration and he's heard good things about the kind of staff he would put together( a poster Cookedw said they heard Brian Hartline would be Grimes choice at OC with his brother Mike the QB coach) Freeze's baggage is a concern and whether Sankey or Roberts would sign off on him. RN the chances of them signing off on Freeze are low. There are a lot of important, respected, and influential people who want Sanders to at least get a legitimate look, but there are others who are worried Sanders will use us as a launching pad to another program like his alma mater Florida State. Grimes is the odds on favorite to become the next HC as of today. There's optimism that there'll be alignment among the PTB with regards to the next HC this time around.
I am so ready to melt

Hars has unified the "Family". University with Dr. Roberts, PTB, Board, Fans.
The next coach no matter if its the guy a particular fan wants or was their first choice needs to swallow their pride and get behind the dude whomever it is. It's gonna be a long couple years to start but we should see signs of going in the right direction on the recruiting trail because that is priority number one for the check writers at this time.

We should spend almost 80% of our budget and time on recruiting and literally pay the best we can get to play here.
Recruit the portal.
Recruit JUCOs.
Recruit HS.
Recruit middle schools.
Recruit newborn nurseries.
Recruit, recruit, and then recruit some more.
Then to relax, recruit again.
Recruiting never stops.

I think we should stay a splintered fan base and become Vandy.

That was exactly what Baylor was going to do if Aranda left last year for LSU or wherever. Baylor has an excellent AD who has made great hires across the board.

So Hoke seems to agree with what I posted last night so is he stealing my info since it was out first?
Jones seems my insider information was confirmed today. And I claim no insider status just that I know people that know people. Hell I used to post on the recruiting thread people that were gonna show up unannounced and who we were going to extend an offer to in the recruiting thread when Chip was around before any reporter made any comments.

Who gives a frick if prime uses us for a launching pad that would mean he done a great job here. Same for Lane.
If Grimes is already top of the list that tells me they’ve put out feelers and nobody is interested
