If any of you question how a porous offensive line will impact a talented QB, look no further than Bryce Young in the Iron Bowl. He looked very, if not below, average almost the entire game - especially down the field. Only success came when he had to scramble and had WRs who had created 6+ yards of separation or were smart enough to find the opening in our zone.

Teams haven't had to bring pressure to put Bo in the same position all season and some of you expect him to perform like Bryce vs Arkansas a week ago...77% comp, 559 yds, 5 TDs...

...all while having to learn a vastly more sophisticated offense under Harson.

Bryce Young is completing almost 70% of his passes, and it hasn't taken him 3 seasons to do it. All behind a horrendous OL. Maybe worse than ours.

There is still a talent gap between Bo and Bryce. Did you notice how Young never looked uncorked. Dude was ice the whole game. He was sacked 7 times, hit, hurried many others, but that kid never blew up at anyone and just kept working.

Bo tends to get in his head and that is a big difference. Mental game separates many elite athletes from another highly talented athlete.

However, your point about the importance of a solid line is not wrong either.

Definitely not true and his worst weapon is better than our best.

THis.

Young was hurried 8 times, besides the 7 sacks and near sacks that he was able to elude, and throw strikes to his WRs.

he's an elite QB, who overcame a bad night for his OL.

Bo is a good QB, who tries to di it himself, when things breakdown. Great quality though.

Young will be a 1st round pick, period.
(and he was not avg in our game), he won it for them in the 4th qtr and beyond).

Who has he had to teach him? Who has Bo had to teach him?

Truly top 3 worst takes on this board for all of 2021...maybe 2020 too.

Also - to be clear - Bryce is absolutely a better QB than Bo is, apples to apples. I just couldn't help but think of the success Bo might have had behind a better O-line and with better WRs. Seth was probably the best Bo had his entire career and Seth was MAYBE as good as Bama's #3...but only when he wasn't loafing around.

Yeah I think everyone agrees Bryce is clearly better than Bo. This is more about how a lot of our struggles against good defenses were more on factors not named Bo. When our WR/OL have been able to hold their own in Bo’s career, Bo has been good (noted exception being the Ga St game where he was rightfully benched).

I'm going to say this with all due respect, but this is easily the dumbest shite you've ever posted in your tenure here. You may need to take a little break.

Bo has a lot of great moments. He also has a lot of what the fricking frick moments too. Young doesn’t have many of those.

Just so you know, Bo's dad was an OC at GA Tech and Miami. I get you want to blame everyone for his failures, but at some point Bo needs to man up on his deficiencies. He is an average QB and comparing him to BY is laughable.

I get your point, but OP literally labeled this thread Bryce vs Bo.

Bo also has 2 years of PTSD from a sieve for an OL in front of him to recover from not to mention no where near the same amount of talent at wr to throw to.

If feel like we had a few more drops against bama than the previous several games. Maybe, Bo's touch on the ball wasn't the problem as stated by some earlier this year.

One has to have a screw loose to declare Alabama's Offensive line is worse than Auburn's. I'd take Bama's offensive line with Bo and Tank and dominate the SEC ...

Do some of you not even look at the stats?

Bryce Young has been sacked 33 times with 418 pass attempts - he was the 2nd most sacked QB in the SEC this season, and no, he's not a statuesque QB, nor does he hold onto the ball too long.

Bo Nix by comparison has been sacked just 13 times with 323 attempts. And before anyone says it, no...he wasn't "dodging 10 sacks a game" or whatever other ridiculous justification someone wants to raise.

You can furthermore look at the QB Sacked Percentage Team Rankings - Auburn is 30th nationally, Alabama is 86th (they were 20th last season).

It actually isn't a ridiculous claim that Bama's pass protection has been worse than ours. Our pass protection has generally been solid for most of the season, the issue has been run-blocking. Bama's pass protection has been horrendous all year. Earlier this year most on here were ragging our non-existent pass rush, and yet against Bama we had more than one guy looking like Lawrence Taylor. So which is it? Our guys were playing with their hair on fire, but look at the stats for Bama: 4 sacks each by Arky, LSU, and A&M. They attempt a lot of passes so their numbers reflect that, but apart from the the A&M and Georgia games, Nix hasn't been sacked that many times.
