How is this possible? He graduated from Auburn in 2007.

IIRC, Cox had some rare muscle disease that delayed his enrollment by a year... your eligibility clock doesn’t start until you start school.

It’s pretty crazy he was ever able to play college football... much less be damn good at it.

Lets not rewrite history. Brandon Cox was booed by fans throughout his career.

He was accurate on slant passes, had the weakest arm of any Auburn Qb in history, zero mobility, but did have the ability to deliver the ball while being crushed.

eta: He was also a winner so i understand the love for the guy

Brandon Cox 4 wins
Alabama 0 wins

Cox may not have been a great prototypical QB but that guy was a winner and a gammer. He also was a great guy and a perfect fit for Tubbs. No crying, no drugs. fricking winner

Curse of death for any Auburn signee. Might as well put him on JSU’s roster now.

Brandon Cox was terrible. He got booed through his whole career and didn’t give us a chance in several losses because how poorly he alone played. The revisionist history on him is staggering.

I will fly across the ocean, dig up the #12 jersey I had as a kid, put it on, probably rip in in the process, cry for a second, and then square up at sonic with you and anyone else who talks crap about my QB like that

He had toughness but that’s about it. Would have loved to have seen what he could have done without his illness.

He had the illness, yes, but he constantly had knee problems because he got hit (and hit hard) about 50 times a game. Got up every play and took another hit. The fact he isn’t crippled now is amazing.

Agree 100%. The one time I saw him out on the town, he was a massive douche as well.
