Kayak, boat and dock fishing. Fish mostly the shallow banks. Primarily using a baitcaster

Buzzbait. Lanier’s 1/8oz buzzbait works great for me on the Cahaba.

Do you have 1/8oz buzzbaits? Smallest I see is 1/4

If you are using a baitcaster, 1/4oz will be best. Hard to get those little 1/8oz out there with a baitcaster.

There are four lures I'd never go anywhere without: buzzbait, spinnerbait, worm, and a jig.

I'll roll with the 1/4s and blame 96 when I don't catch anything

Make sure you get a black, white, and yellow one. Color makes a difference.

I have never caught anything with an all black bait. I hear people rave about them all the time, especially with buzz and spinners. No luck for Nino

I like black when it's dark or overcast.

I started fishing again for first time in years. Been out to Oak Mountain three different times last couple weeks but only for about 3 hours.

I caught a nice sized bass first time out with dark plastic worm Texas rigged. Nothing second outing. Then caught a smaller bass Sunday with a bluish lizard. It's amazing I caught that with so many people around.

I think I'm addicted.

Never been much of a fisherman but fly fishing is all the rage out here. And I can’t think of anything better than standing in a river, looking at mountains.

So I’m intrigued.

Perhaps you might try bouncing down that same river in a boat. CO's certainly a good place for that.

I was never into fly fishing until I started visiting Crested Butte a few years ago. Now, I can’t think of a better way to unplug than fly fishing in Colorado.

When I went to Colorado for the Brit Floyd concert at Red Rocks two years ago, we rode up to Dillon Reservoir up in Frisco Colorado. Great little town and it was our first morning in Co. Walked around the town and checked out the lake. Great experience.

I totally get why people want to live there. Its very clean, the people are super nice and its so beautiful. I just cant do cold so that would end it right there. Great place to visit and that lake was amazing. They were stocking the lake the day we were there. Small rainbows but they were mainly for food. The water is so cold in the lake, that nothing can grow init. No bugs or anything for the fish to eat. They have to basically feed them to survive. LOL. That is why I wont live there.

Sure is. Have two kayaks and a canoe and they’re well worn

We were there this past weekend. Most of the lake was covered in ice still

Popped into tenmile creek for a few minutes. Insanely cold and we could see the snowmelt running into the creek in several spots

Near aspen there’s a town called Basalt where Roaring Fork and the Frying Pan rivers meet. Never seen a place more beautiful in my life. But it was early summer and warm. I would struggle living there during the winter

You can see some real pretty places by boat so Basalt confluence must be nice.

Been through there once (the town) on the way from Glenwood Springs to Aspen to see friends and do the walk up Elbert, before going on to Salida.
