Most expected UAB to suck this year because they were forced to take so many JUCOs and transfers when the program started back up. Taking that many players in the same year range creates a big hole on the back end.

I’m not on the Clark train like most, but he’s performed a damn miracle at UAB.

Didn't they start back in 2017? They were allowed to sign classes in 2016, 17, 18 & 19...I get that they didn't get a great class in 16 but still. I don't see where all of the love for Clark. Is he a decent coach? Yes but I don't see him fitting in here at AU.

He had a mass exodus of players after the bammers killed his program. He essentially started from scratch.

And last year he had a ton of starters leave. Like...most of them. Meaning the starters this year didn't have that much experience.

And it's UAB for crying out loud. Why are you people acting like they've ever been a recruiting or playing powerhouse!?

He had all of this happen and STILL made the conference championship this year.

AA7 is right. What he's done is a miracle.

I will admit that Arkie should have looked at Bill Clark over Sam Pittman. That hire makes zero sense. Guy is almost 60 and has never been a coordinator, much less a head coach.

Why not Aranda, another Coordinator or a coach from a lower tier school.

I guarantee they tried. I imagine there was very little interest in the job. Aranda will be a HC at a program better than arKansas soon. No need to tank your HC career before it starts.

then got an NCAA waiver to take mass transfers with no wait period, so he got all the talent wanting to bail from other programs and not wanting to sit out.

UAB, ironically, doesn't have the current level of success without the attempt to kill it

jury is still out on clark. he's good, but no one knows how good yet

Yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about. When UAB got axed they lost multiple NFL guys and guys that went on to be starters and major contributors at bigger schools.

Transfer waivers aren't the reason Clark is bringing in talent, he was doing it before and will continue to do so. And he actually coaches them up too

Why do we have an ongoing thread dedicated to Bill Clark on an Auburn board? Did he die when he got ran over by the Lane Train last weekend?

Check my posts, clown. I am awful dedicated to Auburn for a "non-Auburn fan". The issue here is that I am not a fan of Gus Malzahn being our coach for a litany of reasons. The main reason is that I don't think he is capable of winning a championship here. If he had grown and advanced as coach since 2013 maybe, but he hasn't.

So my issue with Gus as our coach reflects into my opinions on Auburn related issues like the hiring of Malzahn's best friend and noted loser Chad Morris. This board seems to be a majority of pro-Gus people and "posi-barners". I'm sorry that my opinion doesn't line up with a bunch of sunshine pumpers.

Moral of the story, frick you! I am as loyal and die-hard of an Auburn supporter as you will find. I spend $1000s a year on tickets, gear, memorabilia, etc. Not to mention the $5200 a semester that I am currently spending on graduate school at Auburn.

So once again, frick you. And War Eagle!
