So if we get the twin brother from Monmouth, we will have the Bash Bros next year? A long way from civil war and strife in Somalia for their family. Happy that Auburn will be a part of their life.
They are decent to good pro prospects as well. NBA loves 6’7 3 and D guys.

Yep could use some good nutrition and put on some good pounds on a beanpole body
Nice highlights. Not sure what level of competition is this against, but just really fluid.

Could look at his brother Abdi, who is essentially the same kind of player. Hell we even have a representative sample against us. He scored 15 in Auburn.

Just curious but on the Bashir Bros, are they twins? They are both listed as sophomores. Or did one get held back or something?

The one at Monmouth has 2 years left, but thanks to Diego Pavia the one in JUCO has 4 years and maybe 5 to play.

quote:Don't think that is correct. The waiver was "an extra year of eligibility in 2025-26 to athletes who previously competed at a non-NCAA school for one or more years". Sounds like it doesn't matter how many years at JUCO, you only get one extra year. And to further complicate matters, they are only granting next season to those athletes that had exhausted their eligibility at the end of the '24-'25 season (which doesn't apply to Abdul). Questions is, will the NCAA extend this beyond the initial waiver of '25-'26?

To my knowledge, the Pavia ruling would currently only apply to Denver and CBM. Also keep in mind the NCAA filed a notice of appeal to this ruling.

They'll have to get it figured out quickly with how roster management goes quickly. Two roster spots to a basketball team is huge, and dragging it out could cost some programs, Auburn included.

Abdul Bashir went for 26 and 6-12 from 3 last night.

Let’s not get carried away. Kid is a good player but it’s a huge jump from Juco to SEC

I think the Pavia rule applies across the board for next season while the appeal plays out.

He merely put his stats for a game.

Come on man, that’s not getting carried away.

I was told that was the whole point of us scheduling the game, I assume we will get him in the portal.

Posting a player's stats for a game and nothing else is getting carried away?

Yeah it kind of is. Juco basketball isn’t Juco baseball. Maybe there are better areas that have Juco teams but many of them are absolutely horrible.

Magwood is going to be a hell of a scoop.
He’s perfect for Bruce’s system.
