More so wishful thinking, would love to see Tank/DJ/MAR get the bulk of the carries.

Have a feeling 1 of our RBs will hit the transfer portal by the end of Spring. Our backfield is absolutely loaded.

Gus will stick with fumbling Boobie no matter what.

Knowing Gus - there is 100% no way this happens.

Most likely
RB: Boobie Whitlow/DJ Williams

What I want
RB: DJ Williams/Tank Bigsby

I’ll be damned I could’ve sworn he was a senior even with that extra year

Still don't get why people are sold on DJ. If you go back and watch his carries in the bowl game he missed a bunch of wide open holes. The dude has vision issues for sure.

Derrik Hall could start over Moultry. He got about as much PT as Moultry this year.

I think that's fair, but for as bad a performance as he had in the bowl game, he had an equally good performance in a couple games this year providing much needed ground production when Boobie couldn't.

I see a lot of potential. He's a true RB. But I could be wrong. Excited for Tank.

If we land Jones he will start. I would guess he would be at LT, Troxell at RT, and then Hamm would move inside which is probably a better fit for him.

I also have my doubts about DJ Williams but I think a lot of it had to do with the blocking he received last year. IMO DJ is good at hitting an open whole, breaking off an arm tackle, and falling forward. In a classic Gus offense he is a good fit at keeping the offense ahead of the chains and picking up 3rd and short.

But DJ really struggled down the stretch. 8 carries for 16 yards against Alabama compared to Whitlow’s 16 for 116. His best game other than 2 big runs against LSU was 93 yards against Ole Miss for less than 4 yards per carry.

I think DJ would be good with great oline play, but Whitlows ability to make guys miss in the backfield and get up fields was huge last year. He was the only chance we had to get a running game going in a lot of games last year due to poor blocking and his ability to get to the edge. I think we need to get the offensive line sorted out and then we have plenty of talent to fall into place behind that, including Boobie.

What is the status of MAR anyways? Wasn't he dealing with injuries or something last year?

Why are most of us (me included I guess) assuming Tank is going to jump him in the depth chart? The kid was highly recruited and seemed like a pretty talented back coming out of HS...

Yes, MAR I believe got injured during fall practice, and had to have some type of leg surgery(?). So he was held out in 2019. But believe he is good to go for spring.

Tank, many feel he will contribute bc...
1. As Gus says, he has 'homerun' ability when handed the ball, which we don't have in our backfield, and
2. He will be here in the spring so will have time to learn the plays, practice nad get into the RB mix to see if he can be in the rotation in the fall.
