Maybe USF has more players we can steal
The skill position USF players have played better than the "highly rated recruits" we have on defense. Nimrod, Singleton and Koger have been as good, or better, than a lot of those 4 star defensive guys all season.
Auburn's problems start in the trenches on both sides.

Not going to be me, I’d rather take a swift kick in the balls than watch another and I quote “This is not who we are, this is not what we practice”

Golesh is on the verge of losing his grace with the fanbase. He needs to sacrifice someone substantial or the all the blame will be on him. Bench Brown, fire the OL coach, changes have to be made now! What he's doing is clearly not working, and as the HC he's got to make some serious changes. Brown is too old and experienced to play the way he does. OC is calling plays knowing there is zero chance for success with this OL. Durkin? I don't even know where to start with this guy. Utter disaster and seems to be just going thru the motions and looking to get fired. Chambliss ate us up today, we don't contain and we definitely didn't scheme a spy.

If we had lost to UGA I think some people would be ready to pull the plug on Golesh

We cant pull the plug on a year one coach. That is retarded.

No he isnt. It is his first year coming from USF.
We start judging him with what he does in the portal and how much more competitive we are in conference play next season.
He had a plan...Got his teeth kicked in during the mid season stretch. Now we need to let him spend some money on players and then judge. I will say, if the Arkansas/State games go sideways...all bets are off.

I can stomach losing to old piss and lsu this year, but losing to that shite gaytor team is what gets me. Dawgs are committing crimes against humanity on them right now. I guess Summernall spent too much time at the nail salon this week instead of game planning

Alex Golesh on Auburn's running game today: "We certainly tried. We kept leaning on it until we had to go into a two-minute mode."
Omar Mabson had two carries after the score was 17-15 (and then quickly 24-15). Jeremiah Cobb had zero.
From Hoke.

Cobb had 7 carries. Mabson had 6. That football is still leaking with full piss, coach…

Well, right after that was where the refs fricked us on the "fair catch" call that put us on the one yard line.
The game was broken open then. But yes, the reluctance to run the running backs is concerning.
Mabson, and Cobb for that matter, are solid to really good at outside zone plays. And...It is relatively easy for the OL to block. We actually saw it on one of the TD drives where they ran outside zone, then ran inside with a RB then ran inside with the QB.
Whatever plan the OC is coming up with makes no sense as an outsider looking in. It just seems like calling random plays you think might work.

Let's not act like DJ was coaching his tail out before the fair catch. Yes, it was a bad call. But good teams adapt.

Golesh also said that was the correct call and Pleasant messed up.
Alex Golesh acknowledges Rayshawn Pleasant made a mistake briefly giving the "T" signal that led to Auburn starting on their own 1-yard line:
"It's a mistake thinking it's going to go out, giving a signal... it truly is a mistake. I own it. You can't do that."

I agree you are not able to fire him yet. Honestly I think the offensive scheme is not bad - we just do not have the quarterback or line to run it, and the OC does not know how to adjust his calling to what he has. Byrum should be running like 25 times a game unironically.
In the portal era though you really have no excuse to have 2 bad seasons in a row, so if Golesh does not produce next year he just is not good enough and you could go ahead and fire the AD with him.

I personally still believe that we're seeing a lot of read options that BB just isn't willing to keep himself, or that are getting audibled into a pass.
He's had multiple runs this season where he hasn't leaned into contact to get that extra 2 yards and it is so frustrating to watch. Today he had one where we could've had a first down but he just ran out 2 yards short instead of plowing over a CB. Cam made secondaries and even LBers scared to tackle him after he leaned in and punished them a few times.
I will say, I am sick to death of bubble screens. One of the worst plays to enter CFB in the last 15 or so years. Mostly because everyone not named Auburn uses them less and executes them better it feels.

Yes, just a terrible look for the whole organization.
