Yep. A big flaw he has.

I'll credit to Overton for stepping up. He still takes too many bad shots and lets his man by too much, but he's gotten better. Whatever Hall gets paid is too much though. I wish he played with half the effort Jovic plays with.

Wasted opportunity with poor decision making down the stretch. Good effort but this team is not close to good enough to shoot free throws poorly and get a road win. Have a quick turnaround with A&M. They better shake this one off and be ready to go at home Tuesday night if they want any shot at making the tourney.

Brutal loss, but not a bad one.

Yeah, this was always a coin flip type of game to me. Frustrating way to lose though.

There are no leaders on this team. Pett fouling out on that was a terrible call by the coach. It was a we lost mentality. Cant do that in my view. We needed him. Jovic foul was BS, but he shouldn’t have done it, he lapsed on the blockout of the small dude.

Our offense is too many 1x1’s because we can’t play strong in traffic and finish. If we pass it inside it’s always turnover or block.

Fishback on the halftime report said that this Auburn team doesn't know who it is yet. That seems about right.

Yea very accurate. They will be a different team late February. Similar to Florida last year (not saying we are that good).

I feel like this is going to happen more frequently with large roster turnover teams. Some will gel early and find it, some won’t till later and others not at all. Just hope this team finds it soon.

People keep saying this team will grow and get better... but honestly I don't see it. It seems like most of these players have hit their ceiling already and this team is at its peak. I don't think there's another level to go to.. these aren't young players, they are all upperclassman except for SWA and Freeman. I think this is just what we got.

Not saying this team is horrible or even bad, but its just kind of average.

SWA, Freeman, Jovic, and Magwood all have huge room for growth, all freshman. Walker too, though he's not getting many minutes. Tahaad has plenty of room for growth too, though who knows if it happens.

But when people are talking about them growing and getting better, I'd say it's more about them playing together as a team, not improving individually. We have too many individuals playing together, not a team playing together.

Hall in particular is going to have to become a better passer for us to get better. Tahaad obviously needs to as well.

Depends on if the money people show up or get tight again. Just have to hope this year is a bit of a wake up call.

We aren’t good nor bad. We are an average SEC probably will be around the bubble come selection time.

Actually thought Steven coached it pretty well today but as we have said this team has many defensive flaws.

Overton Hall and Murphy are going to take a lot of shots. That’s why they choose to come here. Overton to be more than a defender, Murphy to show he can stretch the floor, and Hall is a volume shooter anyway. Some days he will carry us to wins some days he will take us to losses.

Need SWA Jovic Walker and Magwood to really step up become great at the things they do well and improve what they do poorly. They are the core going forward. Obviously we will add pieces and Freeman might be a guy that hangs around and becomes a better decision maker with the ball in his hand. He has elite potential. Needs to become a great defender. He’s already decent. Probably could hold 15-20 more pounds on his frame

Can’t say even with selfish play at times that this team doesn’t play hard.

It’s more so about playing together than anything else. About half the roster has a lot of growth and the other half has probably hit their ceiling. They all are still learning to playing together. That is the growth that is being referred to.

Anyone got any idea about what's going on with Tahaad?

From Pearl's post game press conference about him not starting...
quote:

It was a coach's decision. It was a failure to meet our team standards and expectations. Tahaad's got to do a better job of leading by example. That's something we continuously talk about. Until he does those things off the court — he's got to stop putting me in these positions where I have to make difficult decisions.
