After a second watch. Our OL is not very good but they didn’t just have blown assignments. Therefore for me the coaching there seems solid just not talented.
Brown will be a lower half QB in the SEC. He’s good on timing routes. And he looks very slow. I think he can clean up the interceptions. But he will turn the ball over because of that very long windup.
Middle of the defense is very good. We still need to generate more interior pressure from the DT spot. Corners were good and bad. That’s just how it goes out on the island. We will improve in tackling as well and it wasn’t horrible but will get better.
Overall it’s gonna be very hard for this team to win a conference game on the road regardless of who the opponent is.

I watched a lot of his games last year when we hired Golesh. I don’t m one of o ever saw him as indecisive as I did in that game. He was usually much faster to take off. I think we saw him really be bothered by the offseason talk and try and be a QB he isn’t. Hopefully somebody can get across to him that he needs to be a runner.

I agree. There weren’t any guys just running in untouched. But #69 got worked bad in particular. There’s got to be someone better to take that spot.

Yea, LG seemed to be our biggest struggle in camp. Really disappointed the Miami transfer has struggled as much as he has. Right side I think overall played decently. OT’s looked fine. Majority of the pressure issues were stunts that challenged the guards.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Have to think Winter’s frustration here is with Anthony. Communication has to be for him to stay outside and watch that route. There are easily 4 guys inside to help with the outside receiver running a slant. He should pass him off and stay outside. It looks like everyone else is playing zone and Anthony plays hard man.

The 11 play drive made no difference as it was before the half and only 1 minute and 27 seconds
Basically half of all offensive possessions were 5 plays or less then a hand full at 7 or 8. And only coming up with 17 points. This is super hard for a defense to deal with.

They converted 31% on third down and probably under 20% the last 3 quarters. We brought tons of blitzes. What game do some of you even watch?

Randy the QB had one leg. Did we knock him down any after the first quarter? 4th down conversions?

I don't think that's the same team from last year. I won't try and convince you that Baylor will be some world beater......because in all honesty I don't have enough information to say they're going 5-7 or 10-2. Just eye test though, they looked more game. The same goes for Byrum for me. He deserves the leash of a guy that hasn't done enough to deserve the grief he's going to get because of the past 5 years However.....Our fanbase is in pain, so I expect them to be at the edge of a cliff right now.

I don't think anybody is thrilled with much from yesterday but they converted 30% of third downs and, like I said, a lot less than that the last three quarters. So of all the things to be whining about that is way, way down the list.

I already addressed that. Baylor also converted 67% of their 4th downs.

They had 99 plays. Defense couldn’t get off the field. Textbook Durka, give up a huge 3rd down play to make it 4th and very short, then give up the 4th down conversion.

What got me was on what could have been the game winning drive for Baylor, our defense got beat over the top not once, not twice, but three times on the final drive. Pathetic. All we had to do was keep them out of the end zone

the worst part for me was watching a guy who’d never caught more than 7 passes nor gained more than 78 yards in a game in his previous 4 seasons light us up for 12 and 154, including the 4th and 10 and the potential gamewinning TD

That's because we were being aggressive. If we had sat back and let them dink and dunk people would, rightfully so, be up in arms about that too.

Not if they ran out of time. You could have made them burn their time up and it would have made them do the long ball.

We got one sack against that bum leg and that was in the first quarter. That's pathetic and Randy fricking approved.

So your take is that the defense was the reason the OL can't block and our QB was Jackson Arnold, Payton Thorne, Jeremy Johnson 2.0 etc...
