take a chance on Hugh Freeze. He’s currently making 2 million a year at Liberty so we can afford him. Go ahead and flame away and down vote.

Would be shocked to see AU taking a chance on a Freeze, Kiffin, Sarkisian type.

When winning means more then character count me out.

Bruce made a mistake by lying. That's a character flaw sure but he wasn't lining up prostitutes, paying players, cheating on his wife, frickin alumi women, and alcoholic and so on...

We got rid of our best softball coach ever over mishandling an issue with his assistant coach. Auburn is not the place for low life's.

Did you like 55 passes to 16 runs on Saturday? Because that is what you get every week with Bucky

Just a hypothetical question here... what happens if AU finishes 8th in the conference in basketball this season? Bad coaching, roster mismanagement, etc? Have to admit we have the 3rd/4th most talented roster in the conference.

These are not predictions but how can an "open floor" coach not have a legit shoot guard?

Just a little fun with you jokers. But Au has invested in the basketball program. Has given Bruce everything to be successful. Are the expectations there this season?

Please tell me you are trying to compare the job Bruce has done to Gus

no not trying to compare the jobs each have done but Bruce has had plenty of time and plenty of recruiting for a consistent program as well. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Bruce proved his worth at Tennessee..

Freeze, where has he proved his worth? Ole Miss?

And isn't Freeze a clone of the Gus Malzahn offensive philosophy but with just more passing?

I'll pass on Freeze...easily.

I know what you’re doing and it’s a really weak argument. To make it you have to disregard the fact that he has been consistent (just graduated the winningest senior class in program history by a pretty wide margin). You also have to ignore the fact that recruiting for basketball is a completely different animal than for football (13 scholarships to 85) and the only way to avoid any kind of drop off after a senior heavy class like that Is to bring in a UK level class.

I know you’re not saying Bruce = Gus if we end up 8th this year, but it’s still a really dumb argument... even for argument’s sake.

I don't understand the Freeze love everywhere. Dude is a bigger POS than Kiffin ever dreamed of being and hasn't won a damn thing. Ever.

All I’m saying is if we have a hard time getting the money to buyout Gus then we need a affordable coach and Freeze fits the bill. Gus’ contract has been a major setback for the Auburn football program and people need to be held accountable, Leath and Jay Jacobs are not the only ones behind this ludicrous contract that’s holding us hostage.

Not to mention the years of being absolute bottom of the barrel as far as a basketball program that Bruce took over here.

2012 was a bad year, but Gus took over a team that was obviously talented that was 3 yrs removed from a natty.

To try and compare the program that Gus is running to the one Bruce is running is laughable.

Started to bring this up but decided to not. The fact of the matter is maintaining a basketball program is totally different from football, that’s only compounded when you’re building from scratch.

just think if Auburn didnt rush to give Gus an extension right before the 2017 SECGC. If they would have waited I dont think he would have ever got the huge contract and we wouldnt be in the situation.

Im following you and no way I would make any comparisons between the two but you are trying to deflate what 2013 was.

We lost 40 players from our 2010 team to 2011. 40. And most of them were key players. There really was no big gain from our 2010 natty as far as recruiting goes. Saying Gus inherited a talented team is a stretch. He inherited a team with lack of talent, lack of leadership and it was just damn broken. More broken than any team in my 40 years of watching Auburn

He brought in a DB from Junior college, built a offense that was basically unstopable and was one defensive play from winning a national championship against of of the best offensive teams in the last 20 years.

All that from 3-8 and broke. Dont belittle that. It was a major accomplishment and it was done with very little talent.

I agree that he needs to be removed at this point. I do agree that he is not getting the job done. But those things happened and cant be denied.

It was marvelous and if not for one dive at a players feet, he gives us 2 national championships.
