I wish we would get some Durkin news..........not just speculation. I don't want to lose him. He has recruited well and his D is salty AF.

Yep. Gonna look for one myself.
Im excited to see Auburn football again going forward, but ALOT of it is just Im gonna wait and see. I think hos offense and keeping Durkin was one the top few realistic outcomes that I heard. (Assuming he stays) If we can keep the guys we need and fill a couple spots with more talent from the portal, they could win some games. I pray Auburn will be able to improve a QB on campus now

We get it, you wanted Sumrall. He may be a better coach
From recruiting recognition standpoint though, Sumrall and Golesh are in the same category of "who the frick are they?"
But that shite doesn't matter if our NIL writes the biggest check. No recruit will care who the coach is if they get their bag and the coach isn't a complete dipshit

It’s probably always been true to a certain extent.

247 has the classes separated by two spots. My point is perception is reality and if recruits don't know who he is he will have work to do. Again I'd love for him to work out I'm just skeptical.
If there is one thing that ive learned about him today its that he is a relentless recruiter. There are stories of him from Tennessee that he had a giant screen in his office that he kept up with recruiting on nearly every second he was in his office.

Just looked and don't you know fellas, we play Tennessee at Knoxville next year. The schedule gods always seem to know.
Also UF/Sumrall have to come to Jordan-Hare.
(Ole Missus too.)

Dude seems to have a edge to him. It will be great having someone with a little dog in him.
Im trying not to get too excited about him but its not easy. Not even sure why but somehow, this feels right

Been on the road a lot today.
I'm really excited about the hire. What have I missed other than the announcement?

I like that he's not a quote guy, I'm about tired of hearing the "1-0 mentality" schtick

“I want to thank President Roberts and John Cohen for the opportunity to lead the Auburn program,” Golesh said. “Auburn Football is one of the proudest, most tradition-rich programs in all of college football and my family and I could not be more excited to join the Auburn Family. This will be a player-driven program, and no one will outwork our staff.
"Auburn has won, can win and will win championships. Let’s get to work.”

Not really a lot. I would say there is way more positive reaction to this hire than any since Malzahn. A lot of the know it alls are saying we may have made the best hire. Who knows.
I cant wait to hear the announcement and see how he seems. I get the idea that he will be very appreciative of the opportunity. Which is always a good start
Like I said before, Im trying to temper expectations but we needed something good and somehow this feels good. I hope I am not wrong
I dont think there was any Durkin news. Personally, I think retaining him is gonig to be difficult. But he may not be too butt hurt over the process and hang around. It would be nice to have him back.

Seems like a lot of other coaches love the Golesh hire, which is about the biggest endorsement you can get.
I’ve def got to temper my excitement after all the diligence ive done today.
