I’ll go ahead and state that I’m not thrilled with the hire and don’t like it, although it could’ve been worse.

This guy has only really coached the QB position 1 season and that’s it. He has 2 total years of coaching experience. 1 year was spent as assistant QB coach.

This makes me believe Bryan Harsin will run this offense.

If we are getting a guy with no experience. I believe it should have been Dell McGee or DC. But whoever. War Eagle and get us ready to wreck shite.

Agreed. Harsin has to have decided to call the plays if this is the guy.

He's been the QB coach for 2 seasons and has 3 total seasons....in the highest level of football. He was the youngest QB coach in the league when he was hired. He saw 6 different NFL offenses as a player.

His entire resume suggests big time up-and-comer. With an established offensive-minded HC, this is an exciting hire if it ends up being him.

Hope he can recruit. Was just watching Holden Geriner do a post game interview, kind of remarkable to think the guy coaching Russell Wilson could be coaching him next season right out of high school

My bad. 3, not 2.

Yea, I read the same thing with Loeffler and Dillingham.

Has it been mentioned that this guy has no recruiting experience on the college level? Zero.

What do we lack as of today? Recruiting.

I’m not a fan. You, and anyone else, can be.

As far as the whole “truth the coach” phrase, he’s already missed on two assistants in year one. Auburn fired an OC and WR coach before the season even ended. Hard to trust his judgement.

Harsin has been in charge of some extremely impressive offenses so I would not be too sad about this.

Agreed, as long as he’s able to manage it and his HC duties

You are trying to bad talk Harsins judgement because of Bobo and Corn? I would imagine hiring them was 99% about them knowing the region and having tons of southern connections, and 1% everything else. He was from the absolute opposite side of the country. Those hires very well may have done exactly what he wanted them to do. Get him in all the high schools, all the SEC states. Like, Bobo probably has as many connections in the SEC as anyone ever has.

We weren’t going to win the title this year anyway, and I expect Harsin gained a ton of regional knowledge from those 2. Not his fault Corn is a dumbass, when other people were probably telling Harsin he was legit.

CBH is no dummy, he can see the bigger picture.

Edit: I would love the Seahawks guy based on resume alone and how he is being talked about

Joe Brady was an offensive assistant with the Saints for two years, and beyond that had not done much prior. His next biggest stint was coaching LBers for William and Mary and a grad assistant at Penn State

Eventually we’re going to hit on one of these young and upcoming OC coaches. I mean the law of averages says

I mean, I like the hire more than bringing in some washed up OC like Bobo was

I would assume that Harsin will call plays just because Davis never has and it would be quite a leap to go from never calling plays to calling them in the toughest division in CFB.

I don’t hate Harsin calling plays if that’s what he wants to do. As long as it works, that’s all that matters. I would have been all for Gus calling plays at the end of his tenure if our offense wasn’t so shitty, but it was so I wanted him to let someone else try.

I’m not against the Davis hire I’m just saying I don’t think he’s proved much at this point. If Harsin is calling plays and thinks Davis is a bright young mind to bounce ideas off of then OK. But he certainly hasn’t proved anything as a QB coach who is “coaching” Russell Wilson but maybe Harsin’s is going to be really hands on with that. It’s not the worst hire Harsin could make and it’s not the best hire Harsin can make. I think the point TT is making about recruiting is that we need a proven recruiter and he’s not one so you’re taking a risk hoping he enjoys and is good at recruiting over taking someone like Dell McGee who is one of the top recruiters in the nation.
