Auburn did a nice job handling the press tonight.

As much credit as the big guys are getting for the 40 minute Block Party the guards did a nice job bringing the ball up against heavy pressure.

Kenpom has Kessler #1 in Block% which I believe is % of opponent 2FGA blocked while on the floor

got to see the second ever in Auburn history. Just pulled to Atlanta. 285 was nuts with the rain and about needed a boat to get on south cobb drive.

We are up to #6 after tonight in the NET rankings which the selection committee uses as their ranking system for selection/seeding. LSU dropped to #5 from #3. We were previously #10

Correct. His block% is just over 20% which means 1/5 of all shots opponents make from inside the arc are blocked by Kessler. Not 1/5 of the shots he’s defending, 1/5 of all 2FGA that he’s on the court for. That is absolutely unreal.

That's absolutely insane.

Let me make sure I'm reading this correctly.

20% of any of the 5 opposing players that take a shot inside 2pt range Kessler blocks while he's on the court?

Someone post the mind blown gif.

Dude is irreplaceable on defense then and Cardwell is a solid defender.

I made this tonight as my contribution to Auburn Twitter's harassing of our opponents' final score post.

NBA draft picks on our roster:
Jabari
Kessler
Flanagan

Guys who will get to camp/G league/overseas

Green: small, but productive
Cambridge: so athletic; improved FT shooting; seems committed to improving. (He’s my dark house pick to make a roster)
Cardwell: loves playing; big body
Williams: could he get drafted after further development? Good size and at times he displays a scorers mentality.
Zep: overseas which is a nice deal for players.
Moore: I like him. Plays bigger than his size.
Berman: I don’t think he will play past college, but he is a good role player

The role players (Moore, Cambridge, Berman, Cardwell) may stay for all their eligibility which will help when we have to replace the Jabari types Bruce recruits.

Could Williams transfer?

Williams could maybe transfer but I honestly think he could be a feature player next year.

Why can’t we keep him instead? He is a sophomore.

I think Flanigan is good andi love who he is for this team but I don’t see him playing in the NBA consistently. His 3pt shot is not consistent enough. He’s a hell of a player, don’t get me wrong, but making a spot on an NBA roster is a stretch. I could see him playing G-league and getting a few 10-days though.

The TigerRant is gold. The excuses are great.

Apparently we played out of our minds and it’s not repeatable and they still kept it “close”. They were short handed. We’ll never be able to play up to that level on the road. LSU played the worst they possibly could.

His perimeter D will give him a chance at a long career. Great size and length for a guy at the 2 in the NBA as well as lateral quickness and instinct. His remarkable shooting improvement from freshman to sophomore year is what got him on scouts radar coupled with the defense. If he makes more strides there he’s potentially a high pick.
