BYU loses to NET 300 Pacific, so Gonzaga are down to three Q1 wins. Stellar resume, I tell you what.

Essentially meaningless when Marvin of victory is so high and all the other players are around the same mark.

Flanny had 3 points, 4 assists, 4 boards, 1 TO, and 0 steals or blocks.

It that’s what the highest plus or minus looks like stop touting it.

I’m agreeing with you. It’s a pretty iffy stat.

Agree.

And if you watch the game, his play doesn't show helping the team, just bc he shows it in the stats.

He and Green need to show improvement in their play, especially since they are considered starters and a big part of our play.

Green has digressed....that's why we saw Zep in there a lot more.

Flan is unsure of his play...hence Devan getting more of the critical minutes in the second halves recently.

Overall I think the +- metric is supposed to reveal the real impact the player made for his team so Flanny’s +- is coincidental to the players he was running with while he was in. Overall Flanny is at risk of losing minutes to Cambridge because Cambridge seems to be figuring out his role of rebounding and defense even if his shot is off. However we need Cambridge and Flanny and Jaylin for the tournament because all three could go off at any time and put a stalemated game on their backs to the tune of 14 or 15 points. That’s what Jvon did against New Mexico. . If Flanny wasn’t losing minutes against Missouri because of his injury funk I think he could’ve gone off.

I know it probably won’t happen but if we finish 33-1we aren’t going to be worried about advanced stats like Kenpom. We will be worried single elimination trap games

If Kenpom is accurate then that just means we are over performing. I don’t think we are over performing our talent level. The football Iron Bowl was over performing our talent level and the end result showed the team with higher talent win in the end.

When it comes to the tournament we will face a couple death traps like New Mexico or Missouri type games and Ken Pom won’t have anything to do with that. Would a loss mean KenPom was right? Probably not. As we saw last night a highly ranked Ken Pom team- Baylor lost to Bama and I think we beat Baylor home or away.

In summary I’m not an advanced stats bro. Just win baby

Green has not been as good the last two games as he has been the rest of the season.

But I expect him to put together a few strong games in a row.

The knee thing he suffered at mizzou may be bothering him… plus teams are playing him differently bc that high screen and roll has been so deadly.

Wendell might still be dealing with the knee contusion but I’m getting more and more comfortable with Zep. I like both in spells as Wendell is still great with pick and rolls with Kessler.

I think you are right, especially on his deep outside shot.

He has been really off on his timing of those shots, as he usually fills it up when he feels the need to shoot it.

It doesn't take much if your legs and timing are impaired, as it seems he is dealing w/ from the knee issue...

Its amazing to me that regerdless of who Alabama's BB coach, they recruit top #10-#15 since Wimp Sanderson and win only 17-20 games a year with an outlier every 5-6 years (last year).

IDK how Pearl does it recruiting-wise, but he gets it done. He used to be a top Addidas guy but he hasn't slowed down at AU. This year we don't have room but we'll sign 2-3 for next year I would guess. I know we have a couple of top 50 guys visiting for the UA game.

2022 was a bad year for us due to sanctions. We are all over the top 10 in 2023.

Not saying it’s something we should keep an eye on or anything but remember Jarace hasn’t signed with Houston yet. Only committed.

NET 300 Pacific

Every few years I break out my copy of College Hoops 2k8 on Xbox 360 and do a dynasty with Auburn. For some reason Pacific always develops into a mid major powerhouse after a couple of seasons

I think now that the ncaa/fbi stuff is put to bed, recruiting will see some positive affect.

I can not, for the life of me understand why people are worried about them now.

A) how the hell is Bama out recruiting us (a bit rhetorical and I know it’s been somewhat addressed).
B) is Zion seriously a take still? I thought we moved on.
