This has been out there for a while now. End of fiscal year is June.

The are expecting roughly twice the profit for the next fiscal year ending this June.

Extreme profits are bad, unless you have a future large spending project planed. 30 mil is decent for reserves, but it would be better in the 40-50 range. The sec network allows us to keep it a bit lower

Will have to give someone credit in that total expenses went way down. Still would love to know how we match with other organizations of similar size in number of employees and non-coaching salaries. Probable shows how much money we threw away in 2013/2014 year.

LINK

2015 Revenue $124,657,247 (Up 11 million - SEC Network)
Expenses $115,498,047 (Down 11 Million - saved by stopping water for the coaches, actually probable hiring a financial manager)
NET GAIN $9,159,200

2014 Revenue $113,716,004
Expenses $127,340,380
NET LOSS $(13,624,376)

Expenses for the athletic department (rounded):
Student aid: $15 million
Guarantees: $3.7 million
Salaries, benefits, bonuses (coaches): $21.1 million
Salaries, benefits, bonuses (administrative): $21.2 million
Severance: $4.6 million
Recruiting: $2.4 million
Travel: $5.2 million
Equipment, uniforms, supplies: $2.8 million
Game expenses: $3.1 million
Fundraising, marketing, promotion: $4.4 million
Spirit groups: $450,000
Debt service: $10.9 million
Overhead: $10.2 million
Medical, insurance: $880,000
Memberships: $235,000
Other expenses: $9 million
OFFICIAL OPERATING EXPENSES: $116 million

So without the new SEC network money we would have been 2 million in the hole, right?

But glad to see that expenses did go way down.

I wonder if the severance payouts is large for the size of our program too?

So what you're saying is without profits we would have lost money?

i guess you can look at it two ways. If you consider sec network money not normal income, then our athletic dept is not profitable on its own. If you see sec network money as part of normal revenues, then we are profitable.

There's no way to look at the SEC Network money as abnormal income...

You realize athletic departments are adjusting their expenditures based on the increase in revenue, right?

To say we lost money is one way of looking at it is stupid... we didn't hit the powerball... This shite has been in the works for years.

You realize if you took the 50 yd run and the 30 yd run away from the running back, he would only have had 35 yds rushing, don't you?

So if you think about it, he didn't really have 115 yds on 14 carries, he actually only had 35 yds on 12 carries.

Yes, but that running back won't break off a 50 or 35 yard run, much less both, very often. We'll get the same or more SEC money every year. The situations where you say your defense gave up two plays out of the ordinary versus television revenue that you'll get every year reliably are not really comparable.
