I'm smart enough to know he has an agent who handles all of his contract negotiations and even if he called Gus to talk about it during the week its a phone call that would last a few minutes. We got out played. We were playing a top 10 team, it happens. The ONLY thing that cost us that game was UGA winning on the offensive and defensive lines.

Barrett Sallee @BarrettSallee
37s
So, to recap:
- Gus "wants to be at Auburn"
- Gus "plans on being at Auburn"
- @geoff_calkins says Mike Norvell didn't call in to Liberty Bowl teleconference

Anybody want to connect some dots?

I agree. I have been saying that. Our DL was MIA and our OL played like they were early in the year.

I am not sure if our guys started reading their press clippings. I don't know if UGA getting their asses handed to them a few weeks ago is the reason they balled out like they did. I just know that we didn't play well on either line.....and that's a bad formula when trying to beat a good team.

The OL is easy. KJ covered a lot of sins for them. They looked better once he was 100%.

The DL was a combination of good game planning, probably a bit beat up, more in game injuries and eventually they just got tired. uga had 7 yards and gave up 2 sacks in the 1st quarter. That shows they weren't out matched when fresh.

It's not just KJ. Jarrett got pressured all night long. The first game he had much more time.

Couldn't it easily be that Norvell is headed to Arkansas?

Guy on the CC thread said Norvell is out recruiting a guy committed to Arkansas. Weird timing...

Football is like a butterfly affect. KJ was getting 4.5 yards a pop in the first game. Plus he'd hit a couple of nice runs early. That scares safeties and LB's. The runs were between the tackles which makes it harder to blitz up the middle when your getting trounced that way.

Hence you can't blitz up the middle your safeties and LB's have to respect the run more, etc...More time to throw and JS is deadly when he has time.

Without KJ at 100% the OL lost the advantage his running created. The butterfly affect was we couldn't threaten the intermediate routes and didn't have time to take advantage of the vertical routes.

That's true.

We also had a lot of self-inflicted wounds last night. Bottom line, UGA just outplayed us.

Good now we can finally put this to bed, get ready for the bowl win, and finish securing this really good recruiting class we're putting together. The future is bright.
