I defended the guy in the spring. Since then nothing has changed. Recruiting is still a shite show. Games have been poorly prepared for and executed. Decision making is questionable.

I can no longer defend the staff.

Same.

But if there are people who didn’t support him at least in the beginning, they need to check themselves.

Did you miss our receiver play prior? It was abysmal.

What’s changed? Our WRs are barely targeted because they suck.

Can't do that. Call bullshite all you want doesn't bother me. I am just tired of everyone crapping on the BOT for things that are just not true. They have the best interest of Auburn. Since Shug, except for Barfield, every Auburn coach has competed for Championships.
bullshite. You’re an anonymous poster on a message board and you just threw out some bold insinuations but won’t state the specifics? Because of your “sources.”

Here’s your attention. shite or get off the pot.

Then they should have absolutely no problem with you sharing with us what they told you Harsin said to send Mason packing.

Unless they didn’t tell you either, which is my guess.

I’m certainly guilty. I like the guy and I had hoped he would and could succeed. I’m not sure he’s been given the proper administrative and booster support a coach needs to build a program but I’m also now convinced that he isn’t suited to lead the program anymore. I think the guy can coach and I hope he succeeds elsewhere. Just not a good fit here at AU.

On a separate note, I’m not convinced anyone who is interested in building a program is going to come here. We are so dysfunctional and, aside from the get-rich-quick scheme it has become, I don’t see a legit long term coach wanting to come here in our current state of dysfunction.

Mason/Bobo left for a valid reason after what was said in a Staff meeting related to recruiting. Mason reported it and got the hell out.

May not be the same thing, but I heard on good authority that his recruiting board was color coded and the top recruits were in the black column, and openly referred to as “Black Guys” by Harsin, Uscher, etc. in meetings.

i.e. “we’ve heard enough about the blue guys, what black guys do we have coming this weekend?”

Care to elaborate on this?

My lack of support of hiring him was not what I was accused of. Yes I like Malzahn most of his time at Auburn but I agreed it was not going well the last year or so.

But, I was vocal about being careful what you asked for. Auburn is not good at coaching changes. The Malzahn hire may have been the smoothest one. Plus, I somewhat felt Malzahn was the perfect Auburn coach. Hit or miss and when he hits, it is great. We had some great moments under him.

Most here and at Auburn overvalue the Auburn job. It is not the storybook landing that some want it to be. There are issues. There have always been issues and they will continue due to its small little brother kind of attitude. Like it or not

As for Harsin being the guy? I questioned it but we basically could not get any one better at the time. Its a very hard place to take over and I was not sure he was the guy. He wasnt.

I wanted him to do well but after watching him on the sidelines, I just didnt get a warm and fuzzy. Right now he looks like a flight attendant who is trying to land a 747 after the pilot jumped out the window

I will say what I said then. If Auburn is going to change coaches, they need to have a plan in place. Maybe even someone lined up. If they go on a "coaching search" again, it is only going to get worse

Lets hope there are some wheels turning that we dont know about

Aren't we all anonymous in this board? I am not here for attention. I will be at the game tomorrow pulling for them. You?
I stated why I posted what I did. Everyone is all off base blaming this on the BOT.
Respectfully sir, I have not claimed, mentioned or bragged that I have sources. Not one time.
Open you right pants pocket and I will!

Case in point... Carnell had Citizen locked up. Kid loved Auburn. All it took was for Harsin to offer. Kid is at Miami.

They were at least on the field and lined up correctly. How many times before were they lined up wrong or running late?

My oh my how the standards fell.

Not substantially enough to assume that’s why he got fired.

I didn’t even write the timeline either.

Freeze

Might as well say it again in this thread. If Auburn pays nearly $40,000,000 to get rid of Malzahn & Harsin, just to turn around and hire Great Value Malzahn (Freeze), we certainly shouldn't be surprised when we have déjà vu with the results and the next coaching search.
