I wonder if it is set up where that is not possible. They may be taking the taxes out up front. It would be a good idea

If they dont hold back the taxes, can you imagine the trouble some of these guys are going to get in to. It will ruin their lives instead of setting them up

I think the CB Woodby decommitted from Ohio State because they got a commit from Offord and the CB from Texas the two top CBs in the country.

As quickly and quietly as Offord flipped, it was probably NIL related.

There is an interesting interview with Kenyatta Watson where he touches on NIL and Kelly and Freeze have mentioned this. He said its not about whether the collective has the money so much as it is what it will do to the NIL structure of the team. You bring in a fella out of the portal that is better than what you have its one thing. You have KJ Bolden show up on Ga campus driving a Mercedes SUV.....ya better make sure those fellas on the team who already brought you to the dance are getting paid what this unproven kid is or you are gonna have some issues in the locker room and some portal exits.

The WR Ffrench who was committed to bama and now Texas I think, still in HS, said he wants a Lambo deal. Its absolutely insane what they are getting for being good high school players.

This isn't what NIL was meant to look like. Immature pampered teenage athletes, who haven't done shite, are steering the multi-billion dollar ship that is college football

Its not getting any better any time soon. I don't remember when it starts, but with the ruling the colleges can pay players now, collectives will be coming in house but still count as 3rd party. So even when they come up with a salary cap, every team will be able to dodge it by using the collective still. Whole this is a joke, but that's life lol.

NIL should come with a required seminar on how not to blow the doe.

If you're blowing it, it's a buck, not a doe

*adults. They are adults that are working and paying taxes. Why do you feel other adults are fine to use their labor for profit but they cannot?

Depends on how you define profit. Free housing, food and education, free health care seem to be a form of profit for the players, no?

We settled that a 100 years ago. It is illegal in this country to claim basic necessities as payment while you rake in huge profits. The courts agree with me.

Schools make money off regular students as well but they aren’t guaranteed necessities.

I will contribute to NIL but I have dropped by contribution to the lowest level. The money is getting to much and isn’t about amateurs it’s pro football and basketball. I wouldn’t mind at all if each player got 35-40k a year. But some kids get $1m+ a year is just dumb. Granted we have to play the game to compete but hope this regulates itself quickly.

Time to start suing High schools for charging gate entry fees and not profit sharing with the players. Theyre clearly profiting off of others labor, yes?

Same with pee wee football and travel baseball. Perfect Game makes a fortune off travel tournaments. PG tournament directors in the Atlanta area make between 150-200k a year.

All the arguments center around amateurism. Either you are an amateur or a professional.

Same with other students when they do research and research papers should they all establish a patent when they start their work taking the monetary benefits away from the school or professors?

I'm hearing that soon the university will begin directly paying athletes officially ending this whole amateur athlete facade. If Tim Cook and Yeller feller are now allowed to directly pay players then I don't know if my 34 bucks a month is really needed. I'll give when I can because Auburn gave me so much joy growing up but yeah, makes you reevaluate things.
