I agree 100%. I think we get a QB with a 3rd round draft grade, 1 year left, with our WR and OL he comes in and develops into a 1st or 2nd round guy. High school players see the player development (which we haven't seen much of either) and come in droves

I can see us going often a 1 year transfer at QB for next season depending on how Hank and/or Holden progress.

Walker and Deuce if on the roster will still need a year. Deuce is more raw than Walker was at this point in his high school career. Both have incredible upside.
This will happen, and it will be Salter. And that Auburn team will be damned good.

keep swinging. It will be easier to attract a top TF QB with a solid OL and WR group.

I get the concept but how to you sell that to all these other kids? Meaning the high school kids...

Come here and in 2 more years we are gonna go after a good QB to make us good? Are we going to be able to keep the young talent around in other positions while we get 6-7 wins and wait to finally go after the most important player on the team? Hell, go after one now and replace him later with another one

A very good QB now will equate to more wins. More wins will help bring in guys

I believe the hope is Peyton is serviceable and next year we probably start seriously spending dollars on nil. At least that’s how I read it.

It would be nice to see someone like White get some significant playing time this year to set up next year if he is going to be the guy

2 more years?

The thought is we start spending this upcoming offseason.

I’m not sure what has to be sold besides the QBs who are true freshman/going to be a freshman. As long as you don’t get a guy that’s long term, then that’s an easy sell.

Now do I believe the theory that we’re holding back money? Let’s just say I’m skeptical.

yea, and I have been holdiing back on my money to buy a bigger boat until its time.

Auburn just is not a great landing spot for QB's. Never has been. I think it was also partly the reason Malzahn had so much trouble getting high ranked Olinemen. We were jinxed then. For many reasons.

Now, we need a blue chip guy. Someone to change the narative. Hopefully preacher Hugh can do it for the program. I honestly think if we could just land one guy and build him, it would change the QB narative for years to come

Walker White was a top 5, 5*, All American MVP. Doesn’t get much more blue chip than that. Now we have to see if Freeze can develop him.

Pretty much guaranteed by the hire Freeze crowd. He's a QB guru, just look what he did at Liberty.

If Florida loses Napier it would be nice to go get their 2024 5* dual threat QB DJ Lagway.

That's when you splurge.

Walker White will be a fine, good QB. But if he’s ready to be a backup next great. But no reason to rush him.

Competing to be a starter as a redshirt sophomore isn’t a big deal. He has tons of upside but needs to be mentally developed and his physical play cleaned up. Thats completely normal.

That’s what is great about how Hugh is building the roster. Talent will be stacked class after class.

As an upstanding citizen of this board, I will admit I wanted Napier.
