ts frustrating watching other teams be able to throw the ball 40 times a game with little concern, but we are somehow stuck in 1997 when it comes to throwing the ball.

Not only that, but quite seriously every week a dozen or more 2 and 3 star QBs do this effectively against decent defenses all over the country

Yet despite a parade of 3 and 4 star QBs and former starters elsewhere, we've had the constant excuse of not having talent at the position sufficient to compete in the passing game.

Obviously that excuse is gone. Now or never.

Yeah, it was mentioned that there were timing issues and that Freeze was visibly upset with Arnold holding the ball way too long. Seems to be a recurring theme with JA, and AU QBs in general lately.

All our offensive jeeeeenyuzes have had this problem.

My kingdom for an Al Borges-type.

You may be remembering those years differently than I did. Our passing attacks was plagued with those issues too, and were pretty awful under Borges and got worse and worse every year. Yes 2004 was great.

So the DBs knew they were practicing a fade route to the corner....and they had problems completing it....I would hope so.

Second, we practice what we need work on, over and over. Perhaps, just perhaps the defense knows the plays coming??????

Much ado about nothing. Arnold will have us up by 2 tds at halftime against Baylor, bank it.

Freeze has to say that. One of the stipulations, in Nix's contract at Ole Miss, was he had to be the primary play caller if he went somewhere else.
I hope youre right because i cant take another "offensive guru" HC hire handing over the play calling again. I have enough grey hairs as it is

We don’t hire people that know how to coach QBs and a successful passing game. The folks doing the hiring have no idea what that looks like.

Not worth a thread, but Steiner got signed by the Seahawks... as a fullback lol. I swear I said many times on here he should have been a fullback. Strong as hell, but no bend in his hips at all.

When we first signed him I thought he should’ve been a RB but after watching him and seeing he had terrible hips I think FB would’ve been great.

He played LBer so stiff. Like Corch said, he is a great athlete, but when you watch him, he is so stiff that you don't immediately think "that guy is extremely athletic."

Then you see his pro day numbers and it becomes apparent that he is a freak: 4.39 40 time...39 inch vertical...11ft 3in broad jump...

It is a conundrum but his measurable say yes.

He just doesn't look like a great athlete if you have ever seen him play football.

Athlete, yes. Football player? Probably not. 235 lbs running a 4.39 40 with 39 in vertical and 11.3 broad jump is pretty ridiculous athletically. He just never had good change of direction ability.

It never ceases to amaze me how ready media is to jump on any ridiculous little story and make a mountain out of it if it pertains to Auburn.
