Reality is AAU does a poor job of getting kids ready to play real basketball.

I looked into the history of timing for portal additions. The date is when they committed.

Zep Jasper - 3/18
Denver Jones - 4/8
Wendell Green - 4/9
Walker Kessler - 4/12
Chaney Johnson - 4/21
Johni Broome - 4/30
KD Johnson - 5/19
CBM - 5/19

So we should be seeing some dominoes fall soon.

This isn’t college football. 5 star McDonald’s All Americans are expected to come in and be impact players.

This is nonsense. Go look at the Mcdonald's AA teams from last year. Aden is probably in the upper half in terms of production.

Now more than maybe at anytime since the one and done rule went into effect this is a grown man's game.

And unless your pockets are very deep, for most teams, expensive three year projects are a thing of the past.

This is a fair counter argument. I just think Aden was a bet worth taking.

Also, I just hate discussing the NIL stuff because literally none of us know what the numbers look like.

I guess Aden leaving cause more NIL money to come available, that they probably needed to get broom back.

I wish it was publicly released. It would be cool to see what everyone is getting.

I’m in healthcare and it would be more than I will make in a lifetime lol

Sometimes I agree with you here. Sometimes you are over the top and wrong and pumping far worst than truth.

Like Bama now being "vastly superior to us in basketball". Yes they have closed the gap but we will have our say in the rivalry as well. Bruce didnt "let Bama go to the FF on his watch." Bruce put 99 on them and then won the SECt. Their run was flukish.

Average over 40% from 3 as a team will do that for you

They lost 4 out of 6 leading up to the tournament. It's very strange how they flipped the metaphorical switch

They shot like arse in those losses

Yep. That has been pretty consistent just how they are under Oats. They will shoot their way out of slumps and get hot in an instant. Just part of his gameplan. It relies on shooting that well though. It is a very thin margin for success.

Some of it was teams being dumb and falling into the trap of getting into a 3 pt competition with them. In the SEC teams were running them off the 3 pt line and making them finish at the rim by the end of the year.

Them getting knocked out early probably helped get their legs back under them too. They shot over 42% from 3 for the entire NCAA tournament and if you take out the GCU game (the only one they shot poorly in) they shot over 47%. The craziest thing though was them shooting 47.8% against UConn and still got walkons put in on them.

Yep. Their record when they shoot above 33 or 35 percent (can't remember which one it was exactly) from 3pt land is crazy good. I think it was only one loss since he's been in Tuscaloosa. With the amount of threes they take, hitting only 30 percent could be 30 points in a single game. I believe they averaged right at 30 attempts per game this year.

That would be a good fit for him. They aren’t very good so he likely gets the minutes he wants and he fits the B10 style of play.
