Hoke just made a post saying NIL was likely the driving factor. Said Auburn is about tapped out on NIL resources with the pieces they have.

Yeah I think we will get someone maybe like that Morehead St. guy that was gonna visit. Still a nice option but probably a 10 mpg guy rather than another legit piece.

Oh yeah... have to maximize this season because opportunities like this don't come around too often. 25-26 might be the Tahaad Pettiford/Caleb Wilson showcase.

Yeah, particularly at the PF position. If we don't have a decent PF along with Chaney we are going to have major issues at PF and a bunch more issues in general.
We could probably survive with Denver and Pettiford getting small minutes at PG as backups, but if Pegues gets injured we are completely screwed.
Not having a functional PF along with Chaney will limit this team's ceiling tremendously.

Not sure I agree it limits the teams ceiling, but I certainly think it lowers the floor. Read: I think Chaney himself has a high ceiling next year but is far from a sure thing as a starter.
But overall, totally agree that we need to add a legitimate PF in any case.

The PF position is a little tricky with Chaney being the only real option (don't see Scott being a factor but nice to have for small min if necessary), really feel like a 20+ min guy is needed with Chaney only averaging a little over 15 min this season. I could certainly see him stepping up to 20 or so but gonna need a solid tandem at the 4 imo.
And now you see why Bruce asked to pause the practice gym addition after if was approved and asked we concentrate on the NIL dollars. It's just that much harder now to assemble a elite roster year in and year out without the "funding".

Damn dude, we were so close to filling that hole the Oklahoma came in at the last second. Sheesh I hate them man. Hope there was a third option after him and the dude picked Clemson
