Some like Finley will leave. The normal attrition cycle will prevent the overall number of counters being too much of an obstacle. If our staff wants a recruit they will get him.

Ok, I am old and slow. I got up a few hours ago to make sure the kids stayed off my lawn, but have some time before I go for my morning drive at 5 miles below the speed limit.
On3 Portal Page Can someone translate those adjusted NIL numbers?
What does it mean when it says we are down 184k?
Thanks

Id ignore that. It’s meaningless

on3 just uses each players follower count across their social media pages to assign an "NIL Value" to them. It shows nothing about what they are actually being paid. Calzada has a 230K NIL Valuation, but there is no way he got that for not even playing a down. On3 just gave him that number cause he has around 50k followers on social media.

Thanks!
That makes a lot more sense!

That’s really stupid. Let’s just arbitrarily assign an NIL value to someone based on popularity instead of talent/production. They’re just looking for some “differentiator” that allows on3 to say they’re better than a other pay site. “We have better data. Look at our cutting edge analytics.”

Yep, and we’re probably paying a heck of a lot more for many of the players we just got than their supposed “valuation”. We apparently had $500k set aside for the two HS defensive linemen we missed out on to bama.

Not that I would ever pay for any of those sites but that level of stupidity would auto rule out On3 for me.

They’re all basically the same site.
The same guy started Rivals then 247 then On3. Basically he just rolls out a new site, adds some features, hires all the writers away from the old one, then sells the company. Rinse and repeat.

It’s quite the business plan

The NIL valuation thing from On3 was a good "idea" that was based off the proposed hypothetical description of NIL - which was that more popular players who had social media followings would be able to monetize those followings to pitch products or services (similar to how an Instagram influencer makes money).
However, we all know that NIL doesn't actually operate that way at all. It's more or less just funneling money to players depending on their bargaining power, which is determined by their perceived ability/status/hype. Whether they have 10 Twitter followers or 100,000 followers is irrelevant.
So yes, it's entirely useless. But really, the entire idea was built off what NIL was "SUPPOSED" to be when it was first proposed.

OL stacked need more LBs and a QB
Wouldn't be saying this about the OL until we see how they perform on the field.

I’m not psyched with LB either but goddam, we’ve got 5 seniors there. One or two of them has got to just figure it the frick out
Maybe Roberts can turn them into a solid group. No idea. I don't follow closely like most of you. Never heard of Roberts before he came to Auburn.

You have to work off assumptions sometimes.
Since we’re trying to fill a lot of different needs at the same time, moving forward with “OL is stacked let’s focus elsewhere” is for the most part a good idea. We can’t just recruit 20 OLineman.

Compared to what we had last year, we are stacked. 3 top 10 portal OL, JUCO, and high school OL. Under the circumstances, how much better could Freeze have done? Now we have spring and summer to get them to gel. If someone doesn't feel 1000% better about our OL now than a year ago, that someone is just being a dumbass
