Honestly, had no idea about that, so I don't want my earlier comments about him being "immature" to come off the wrong way.

Every coach says that. If they can play and they aren't just an outright malcontent or criminal, those same guys talking about culture will take them if it means winning.
Some of them will take them even if they are outright malcontents or criminals. Just look at what Urban Meyer was dealing with at Florida. Or LSU and their "team vote". Or Bama and the domestic abuser. Cam and the laptop...
The list goes on forever.

Also - mental illness is a tricky thing and often shows up around your early 20s... if the guy can get help and is/has I wouldn't hold that against him if he ends up fitting in.

You so right, Carl.
It’s tough on young people to have to deal with bipolar/depression, etc, away from home.
Sadly, there are many people who never get the help they need. Suicides are often the product of substance abuse and undiagnosed mental illness.

Xavier Ward is the QB from last year that came from that tiny school Immaculate Word or whatever it was that got so much hype.
