He was committed to Auburn for a while and flipped to Bama toward the end. He played a lot of games with his commitment and that left an impression on Auburn fans that they aren’t going to quickly forget

I remember his recruitment vividly. He flipped to Bama at the end and started trolling the frick out of Auburn Twitter.

Greg McElroy on his radio show this morning said he is lazy AF. He said he is as tale ted as they come, but then said if you watch his tape you would lose track of the amount of times he would come walking into the picture as the ball carrier went down in the pile. He is not a fan of Cohen. His recruitment and trolling of anything Auburn leads me to believe he won't consider Auburn unless he's just chasing some NIL cash.

Why is Cohen even transferring? We was dang good at Alabama and has never given up a sack.

The Bama staff disagrees with your assessment He lost his starting job, although as I stated before, he had/has an opportunity on the other side of the line next season.

He had a lot of penalties too, I believe. They weren’t really expecting him to leave. If he puts it together he’s really, really good. But he has developed a track record at this point for his attitude and approach to the game

I just drove all the way to Lowes, forgot my damn wallet. I blame Cohen.

Will you look and see if they carry an adjustable wrench with a slim jaw?

I fricking hate when manufactures use those narrow fricking bolts

You can be talented as all hell and still be lazy. And he hasn't "technically" given up a sack because he plays mostly on the interior and Bryce Young is great at avoiding pressure up the middle. He did give up a sack that wasn't credited to him in one of their games last season because the guy didn't line up over him and they ran a stunt that Cohen whiffed on.

McElroy was talking mainly about him being lazy not having that dog in him to finish a block 7 yards down field on a HB iso or straight dive. He also said that he isn't a "culture fit" at Bama fwiw. Idk how much to really buy into that but he ripped the kid pretty hard this morning.

These are better than a adjustable wrench, the small set's jaws are fairly narrow.

This sounds like the typical "we didn't want him anyway" stuff. The guy is an absolute stud. People can say whatever they want about him not chasing down plays, whatever. You don't get to this point without putting in work. PFF has him graded out at 100% NFL caliber. SIX pressures in 337 pass blocking snaps.

Cohen, 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, registered an 80.5 pass-blocking grade and a 68.9 run-blocking mark from Pro Football Focus this season. According to the service, he has allowed just six pressures and no sacks over 337 pass-blocking snaps.

Bama is losing their right guard. Cohen, Ekiyor (likely going NFL), and Booker were the 3 man rotation so Cohen and Booker were the likely starters next year. It would be AWESOME to get him.

Forgiveness it is, unless he doesn't come here, then he's a POS still.

Like I said earlier, he's no doubt a stud and has tons of talent, but that doesn't mean that Saban is gonna put up with him loafing on the field and being a cancer in the locker room.

As Jones already pointed out, he lost his starting job and I gotta imagine some of it had to do with his attitude. He's proven very publicly he's at the very least, extremely immature.

No forgiveness, unless he's changed, which if he comes here, means yes.

Nah, don't get it twisted, I'd love to see any OL of his caliber, even Cohen himself, put on the O&B. I'm just trying to understand why a guy with that kind of talent is leaving a team like Bama seemingly out of the blue.

If he were to come to Auburn, I do have a little petty in me where I'd like to see some NFL rookie type hazing for the first couple days of spring training.

When did he lose the starting job? He started against us and Bama's website says he started 10 of 12 games including at a minimum the last 3. He rotated some but played the majority of snaps against us at least.

Maybe he got lazy and they started rotating him to "light a fire" or whatever. I just rewatched portions of the Auburn/Bama game and he played well. Saw him kick out a db downfield on a nice screen by Bama. Didn't really see him slacking off or whatever.

You’re right. He hasn’t technically lost it yet but Booker is expected to fully take that spot and Cohen would be going to the other side

I say that just to point out that he’s leaving Bama for a reason. It could be NIL, but my guess is that he’s a little butthurt about the rotation he found himself in.

He’s a good player. For the mental stuff, I really don’t want to go much further. Obviously, he was in a treatment program last summer for some of the stuff he deals with. Maybe he just wants a fresh start.

That’s all I’ve got. Like I said, I wouldn’t be upset if he transferred here

Another aside on Cohen, before he was committed to Auburn he was committed to SC. They need help at OL too

That was before Beamer, though. He’ll have plenty of options

Does seem like Freeze really stressed getting good players who also fit our “culture”. So if Cohen is not a good fit he won’t make the cut with us
