You think Prime could pull a miracle top 10 class this season, if he were hired?

One of my favorite running jokes that I’m unsure if half the board knows whether it’s a joke or not

Prime would be also able to recruit great coaches.

Great point Blue. People keep talking about coaching skills and someone made a good point on another thread, I doubt Steve Jobs was the best "coder" at Apple.....

We need someone who will charm those dollars out of boosters and charm those recruits. Coordinators would be lined up to come. Its Prime or Kiffin.

Speaking of I noticed during the LSU game, even when they were losing Kiffin was talking and smiling with an LSU player on their sidelines when he made a play, probably a fella he recruited, guy would be fun to play for.

Might be tough for HS given the timeline and the base of our class is OK but pretty light on commits. He’d obviously have to land both Smith and Russaw. Can’t say it’s impossible

I think he’d excel in the transfer portal, though. Especially year 1. That window opens Dec 5, before ESD

I think with the roster the way it is, portal is going to take priority for this recruiting class. We obviously need to focus on HS kids, but we need the portal to help us get back quicker.

Recruits weigh in on who Auburn should hire as next HC per KN:

quote:

-2023 Auburn safety commit Terrance Love, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes: “It doesn’t matter to me. Auburn is a family. I’m happy with whoever we get.”

-2024 4-star edge Sterling Dixon of Mobile Christian: “I would say Lane Kiffin or Coach Prime.”

-2023 4-star edge Tomarrion Parker of Phenix City (Ala.) Central: “They need to get Lane Kiffin asap!!”

-2023 corner Colton Hood of McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian: “Deion.”

-2024 5-star safety KJ Bolden of Buford (Ga.): “Honestly, they need somebody who can turn the program back around to its prestige tradition. I’m not sure who’s a fit for the job right now. A lot of names are thrown out.”

-2023 Auburn cornerback commit Jacorious Hart of Loachapoka (Ala.): “Deion Sanders”

quote:

-2023 Auburn offensive tackle commit Clay Wedin of Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day: “I personally don’t care who as long as they are going to love the tough job and players more than anything else. Someone that builds trust and accountability while developing all the players to their full potential is who I want.”

-2024 4-star defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman of Birmingham (Ala.) Parker, a top-100 national recruit for On3: “Deion Sanders”

-2023 offensive lineman Vysen Lang of Pike Road (Ala.): “Deion or someone who has ties to the South. Auburn is in the middle of a goldmine with recruits — need a HC with a personality to bring them in.”

-2023 Arkansas linebacker commit Alex Sanford of Oxford (Miss.): “It don’t really matter much to me. I really just want (linebackers coach Christian Robinson) to still be there.”

-2023 Alabama offensive line commit Ryqueze McElderry of Anniston (Ala.): “Coach PRIME!! Why? Because he’s Coach Prime.”

-2023 Clemson edge commit AJ Hoffler of College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy: “Lane Kiffin. He’s a cool head coach and could turn Auburn around.”

-2023 Oklahoma linebacker commit Lewis Carter of Tampa Catholic (Fla.): “Cadillac Williams — He’s a great, understanding guy who’s been down the road of a student-athlete.”

-2024 offered cornerback Jayden Coleman of Phenix City (Ala.) Central: “I would say Coach Deion Sanders but Auburn as a whole isn’t ready for that caliber style of coaching although it would be great for recruiting. So I would say Coach Lane Kiffin because he’s able to consistently beat (Alabama coach Nick) Saban with his offense and those resources!”

-2024 4-star cornerback Jayden Lewis of Anniston (Ala.): “I would say Coach Prime! Because of all his connections and relationships he has with the players.”

-2023 Texas offensive tackle commit Payton Kirkland of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips: “Matt Luke!!!”

quote:

-2023 offensive tackle Gernorris Wilson of Lakeland (Fla.), who de-committed from Auburn on Monday: “As of right now I don’t know.”

-2023 LSU receiver/athlete commit Khai Prean of Belle Rose (La.) St. James: “As a recruit I felt that Coach Cadillac was the next person up and that’s who I would like to see as their head coach.”

My question is how well do we handle the publicity that comes along with being America’s team once we hire Deion?

Ask JSU how they handeled the Prime hiring, they handeled it pretty good.

This brings us a lot of exposure and right now we need that. I'm going to guess we handle it well considering that many in our fanbase want him and people have been pushing this rumor for a few months now

I’ve done some vetting and believe Thai, Weagle25, A2E, Pete, Poker, auburnnyc, and myself should be added as mods once we have a overnight influx of new posters.

I mean, i'm new

If we hire him, do I say I was here pre-Deion or say I was here in the post-Harsin era

Auburn is having 4* commits Sorey and Wedin OV this weekend. 4* LB Stanquan Clark will also OV for A&M.

Anyone that OV’s before the new coach is hired can OV again. It sounds like Caddy is going to take full advantage of this. I’d expect to learn about more OVs scheduled for A&M and WKU

Forgot about this. So does this mean guys could potentially OV 3 times, if they’re willing to burn that many OV’s at one place?

Just 2 OVs, and only for the kids that visit before the new coach is hired. Or in other words, if a player has OV’d already this cycle or OV’s before the next coach comes in, they can OV again. That second OV, after a new coach is hired, doesn’t count against the school or player

I have never seen a recruiting turnaround so fast when a coach has been fired.
