Technically, there are a lot of days off on the schedule, no?

There are, but Auburn players seem to be working out as a team and often

Wow. New regime must be awesome.

As far as I know, there are football players working out everyday. Some might have different rest days and I know some guys go home here and there but the facilities have large numbers of guys there every single day. Coaches have been using them for recruiting too

OL recruiting woes don’t appear to be synonymous only to Gus

Like it or not, the stench of Gus is still looming. Gotta start putting OL in the NFL, and that will go away.

‘23 5* CB Tony Mitchell and 5* DL Peter Woods are visiting today, per 247

Gus has nothing to do with this.
Harris is waiting on Bama to accept him.
Hood has us 3rd at best.
Quick is most likely looking at baseball
Woody might be getting a look at DT instead of OL.
I feel pretty good about Sapp right now though. Might be time to hit Dayne Shor back up lol

Gonna be the 2023 class before we actually know. The 22 class is already established relationships with our rivals.

KN pointed out last night that if thats the case.. that puts us with 2 down classes in a row plus a lot of roster turnover after this year. Thats a big hole to be in.

Been saying this since the hire. And not as a way of diminishing the hire — I think Harsin could do great at Auburn. But this setup perfectly for 2 poor back-to-back classes. One is bad enough.
Losing out on a 3* OT won’t greatly impact where we’ll end in the rankings but it highlights a lack of traction we’re getting with a new staff and a position of incredible need. Time will tell if this is temporary due to new relationships, unproven product, etc. Too early to know.

Auburn offered 3* WR Dillon Bell. Recent offers from A&M and UGA this week, plus previous offers from Michigan, Penn State, and so on. Says he’ll OV in the fall

BagMan needs to get out on the road

Agree with you Jones. I'm still at least giving them through the month to build some momentum. Not even a commitment from anyone, just to move to the top or tied at the top for some guys.

I have the unpopular opinion that we have enough OL talent on the roster to accomplish our realistic goals, which is to win 8-10 games and look competent. I didn't start criticizing Gus until 2017ish, so I can give this staff some slack. However come 2023, they need to be pulling guys in.

quote:I agree with you. OL is not a question mark in my opinion. Well above average in the run game and average in pass pro. We can maul some teams. I love that the TE is going to be a focus because we'll need to get the ball out quick against the top teams.

Patience fellas, patience. Just as Jones said, the barn was closed on 21 class, most of the opportunity for the 22 class as well, and then covid restrictions.
Heck Im impressed we are getting visits from a lot of the top tier recruits at all.
A few weeks ago there was an article on some huge 14 year old, 14 years old, Samoan from the PNW visiting Alabama. We cant expect to reel in a top 10 class with coaches on the job for a couple of months and no product on the field, nor current players on the squad who have been coached by the aforementioned, to put in a good word for them with current recruits. Gonna be tough for a couple of years.
We all knew this was coming. We reached the point where the fear of the unknown (where we are now) is worth getting rid of the pain we were in.
Even my Trinidadian wife said it was a good thing, you either continue to wallow in it or get up and fix it and deal with the pain of the change, and she knows nothing about football.
How little does she know. Years ago when we had met, she decides that we will watch the bama game, has cooked ribs and chicken wings, iced down the beer, for when I got home. We sit down, remember Caddy running off tackle and scoring that long TD? Crowd going wild my wife cheering, and then I see her out of the corner of my eye wince a couple of times. I said whats wrong? She said well he crossed the goal so thats a score right? I said yes so? She said well what the heck are his own players so ticked at him about, they are fricking slapping him in the head. I laughed and said thats a congratulations. She said, typical American, even when giving gratitude you have to be violent, and then started busting out laughing.
