KN confirmed it as well. Says Shor "hasn't heard from AU in a few weeks". Also said the same goes for Addison Nichols. I hope Friend and whoever else is making these choices knows what they are doing..

Nichols is a long shot at least. Shor actually seems like he wants to play here

The interesting part is that Friend recruited Nichols, Shor, Harris, and Pritchett while at UT. And in his first month at Auburn he’s only recruiting Harris and Pritchett from that group.

Leads me to believe there’s input from probably Bobo and Harsin on the kind of guys they like. The new staff obviously knows the OT situation. I just wish I knew what they know

Obviously not. lol

Will give KN credit he's probably the best at AU for what he does tho.

. Has anyone watched his film? I’m no coach but he’s not someone I’m upset over not recruiting. Just my opinion.

Auburn is taking 2021 3* OC Cort Bradley as a preferred walk-on. Had 16 offers, none from the SEC or P5

Someone needs to inform Harsin that he’s not at Boise anymore. He can recruit 4* and 5* here.

Offer list:
Auburn
PSU
Oregon
USCw
UGA
A&M

I’ve mentioned this before, and I know Jville is just trollin’, but the recruiting services are in a huge bind with ratings/rankings right now. There’s UR kids left and right with 7-8 SEC offers.

Limited camps has really made things weird. I’d hold off on judging the UR/3* guys until later in the cycle

It shouldn't need to be said but here we are anyway. The 2022 class is the least evaluated class in over 20 years. No camps not much game film so the rankings are going to be hit and miss this early. Easton is clearly a top priority for Auburn and from the article I read yesterday our #1 target at LT. 3 star or not the coaches have made their evaluations with the information available and they like Easton.

We also need a deep understanding of how terrible the last administration was at development, and we will need a few season showing that we can be good stewards of recruits careers before getting blue chip recruits.

Some other UR OTs with huge offer lists that Auburn is in on:

QaeShon Sapp:
Alabama
USCw
Texas
UGA
LSU
PSU

Antaevious Woody:
UGA
Auburn
USCw
A&M
FSU

And it’s not just OTs. Auburn offered UR LB DeMario Tolan today.
Offers: UGA, A&M, Auburn, FSU, LSU, PSU, etc

Gonna take a while for ratings to shake out on the 2022 class

Do y’all want 2021 notes in this thread too?

4* RB Cody Brown got his release from UT today. He and 4* Dylan Brooks have both been I contact with KN @247 A LOT.

KN hasn’t said if Auburn is interested in Brown but I think it’s something to officially start watching. KN also believes this could be the week that Brooks is released

FWIW, landing either/both would get Auburn inside the top 20 for ‘21

One thing that has me curious right now.. and I could be wrong, but just from my observations it seems like they are going after slimmer OTs. There's a lot to like about Harris, but he needs to gain a lot of weight if he's still around 265.

Someone on the Bunker said that Harsin was making a final decision on his evaluation of Brown today and that would determine if Auburn pursued but if they did expect Auburn to be a contender

How many overweight OL have we signed in the last 5-7 years that flamed out? It’s a large percentage

247 caught a lot of shite a few years ago by intentionally evaluating slimmer high school OTs at a higher clip because their data showed that those were the guys getting to the NFL at a higher clip. So essentially, 247 noticed that coaches were leaning toward those body types and adjusted ratings to reflect that preference.

All of this said, I think there’s definitely a preference. Weight and height only conveys part of what someone’s body looks like. The composition and frame are also important and it looks like, from pictures and video, that Harris has a very large frame that’s capable of holding pounds.

I’ve said for a few years now that I really think you’re getting a better athlete in a guy that has to work hard to keep his weight up than a guy that’s gotta work hard to keep his weight down.

I don't disagree with anything you said. The one thing an undersized OT needs most though is time.. to gain weight and develop. Which means just thinking logically, they won't be ready to play next year. That puts a bigger importance on getting some good transfers in that would also ideally have more than 1 year left.. or else we're back to looking for transfers again next year too.
