He was a starting CB for Oregon. He was thrown at 57 times and allowed 30 receptions for 380 yards in coverage and only 1 TD. Had 2 picks. Good tackler and was graded well in run support too.

So all of our problems are solved by only taking 2 juco kids/year? What other policies would you put into place?
Yeah I hate the juco route. It’s not efficient. Probably 1/5 jucos end up dependable Auburn players P5 transfers with legitimate experience are more predictable. The Jack Driscolls- team leaders in smaller conferences can be dependable but they’re next tier below. The Eugene guy is unproven and questionable.. Maybe our roster is that bad.

And I’ll just say this Bama found out during the championship game the ills of playing juco against big teams. That guy got chewed up by Georgia’s receivers despite being a Juco All American. Smaller talent pool at juco.

JT Daniels will graduate before transferring so he will not have to sit

I would think he would be a grad transfer by now

Close to a PhD transfer at this point

I didn't see it posted anywhere, but O'Cyrus Torrence chose Fla today.

Not the biggest surprise in the world.
Did UF also hire his OL coach?

Not sure about them hiring his OL coach. It def seemed like it was trending this way though.

Napier did hire 2 OL coaches who were with him at Louisiana.
Sales was his OC for 3 years before going to the NFL for 1.
Napier also hired the current OL coach from Louisiana.
Torrence was surely coached by both guys so it was a no brainer they would get him to Fl.

Just checked: They hired Rob Sale, who was the Giants OL coach in 21, but was the OC and OL coach for Napier from 18-20 at UL.

I'd rather just roll with our guys vs taking G5 guys at OL. Focus on 2023 guys and let's get it. We aren't winning a title next season, and I don't want guys taking up roster spots. Loy and Sandburg or whatever his name is at QB is a perfect example. Make each roster spot provide value.

We should go after Daniels.
Posted on 1/17/22 at 1:51 pm to auburn22
Why? He couldn't find playing time at USC or UGA. Why do you think he will do better with less talent at AU?
Posted on 1/17/22 at 1:56 pm to AUCE05
Well he was the starter, got hurt, and by the time he was able to come back Bennett had them in the SECCG.
Same at USC, tore his ACL then someone else came in and took the job from him.
Daniels is talented although injury prone

Based on what? His stats are terrible. He has been passed twice by 3* QBs.
