Yeah, just trying to give credit to him for where he deserves it. I’m guessing Ausberry was because of him?

I also know narratives can easily be formed out of thin air.

Trovon Reed has taken up the open "on-field" spot that Bobo vacated and has been used on in-home and off-campus recruiting visits. He has been very strong during these recruiting visits, and prior to that was a big hit with recruits that visited on-campus during the season. He is young and loves Auburn, and obviously it means something for Harsin to recognize this because he has really utilized him as a recruiter.

This at least brings some credibility to the rumor that Harsin is holding off naming the OC until after signing day so that Reed can recruit.

However it also beckons the question who do we cut so that he can be on full time.

Yea - that's what I'm wondering. I don't want to lose his ability to recruit throughout the season.

I don't think anyone expects Will Friend to stay on this staff after signing day.

He (Reed) can recruit on campus. Just won’t be able to travel. That has meaning to it. He has some ability to talk on the phone/social media as well.

Anyway, I don’t want to get too far down the coaching changes rabbit hole. But he’s an ace recruiter in Louisiana and that state is up for grabs right now

I thought he would recruit a lot better than he has so I have no problem with him leaving.

Just to be clear, AUcs13 here is talking about Will Friend.

More folks need to quote what they're replying to. My humble opinion.

Also, Zac Etheridge has been killing it as well. Etheridge and Trovon have basically been the "storyline" to AU's strong recruiting close.

I dont think we can really evaluate Friend yet. Our OL play improved this year and he hasn't had a full cycle yet. TBD.

I think one more year is suffice. I am kind of getting a JB Grimes feel about him. Good OL coach but not a good recruiter. We must find somebody who can not only coach the position, but is a hell of a recruiter.

I don’t think our OL play improved all that much. Maybe a little? But for how terrible they were they should have improved more.

He wasn’t good at Tennessee, wasn’t good at South Carolina and hasn’t been good here on field or in recruiting. We could do soooo much better

but I thought Reed only came to Auburn because AU bought him an iPhone? Well - he has sure stuck around lol

Greg Robinson and Trovon Reed both came out of Thibodaux, La together - what a tale of two different endings - glad to see Reed doing well and reppin' AU in such a positive way!

Sounds like the staff is letting Caden Story go soon.
