Well we are back to #12 in the conference again. UF picked up a commit over 100 spots higher ranked then our highest ranked recruit and doesn't have a coach.
This is going to be a long long long 3 years.

KN had an interesting note on 4* DL Chris McClellan. He has been CB’d to UF but his recruitment is opening up some. Plans to unofficial for the IB.

We get it, you wish we had mediocre Gus back dude

I left out the part where KN said he might commit to UF anyway

Not sure that it changes the unofficial. KN has him listed as a maybe
I’ll post visitors later this week but there’s a lot of official visitors for this one. Including 4* DL Nyjalik Kelly

Yeah i saw KN just posted a few things today so I don't blame you for waiting. At least seems like it will be another good visitors list though.

I supported Gus, yes. But clearly have stated over and over it was time to move on from Gus. The fanbase was to fractured. Hell I even like the Harsin talk. Thought the hire was a decent hire and was willing to give him a chance. He has that chance now. It's not like I'm saying fire Harsin. I just know what shite recruiting looks like and what it leads to. Bury your head in the sand.

I hated Gus and am glad he is gone, but I am also saying fire Harsin. Gave him a chance, even liked him. But a 3 game losing streak (4 soon) and now getting out recruited by a coachless program is pathetic.

You did? We haven't even completed the first year.

So you will be happy with 6-6 after a 6-2 start? This has been the exact kind of season that gets a coach fired. Worst I've seen since Chizik's last season. Is that even open to debate? And 2 recruiting classes poised to produce the same results to boot

Last year’s class wasn’t really the result of either coach. Gus’s class crumbled when it became clear he was getting the boot and Harsin was hired after 80% of kids had already signed.
Y’all can put this ‘22 class on Harsin. But don’t drag last class into your meltdowns

Reality is that last year’s class, ending the early signing day period with no head coach, was about the worst situation you can enter into as a program. It’s why we’re seeing so many coaches get the axe during the season. Before, you could hire a new guy in December and they had time before February to get the class in shape. That’s no longer possible
Harsin also entered a dead period for the first 5 months of his tenure which will be around 40% of the time he’s been on the job through early signing day. If he was a well known hire from the south east it may not have been as big of an issue. But he was a relatively obscure head coach in the tiniest of markets at a G5 school.
A guy like Harsin relies on relationships in recruiting. It’s why we’ve seen such a huge turnout among 2023 guys since June when they first started bringing kids on campus for camps and visits. Typically, recruiting classes start 2 years prior to signing day. It’s why in 2021 we’re spending so much time on 2023 guys. You use the fall and the football games to close out the upcoming class. Unfortunately for this staff, they were really just beginning. Mason wasn’t recruiting 4* & 5* guys at Vandy. Bobo was one year removed from being in the same market as Harsin and his one year at USCe was also subject to Covid restrictions that probably played poorly to his recruiting strengths. They weren’t going to be saviors in recruiting for this class.
I’m not a “Harsin guy”. I’m guessing most of you stumbling over to this thread the last few days are part of some other argument on this board about Gus and Harsin. That’s how these things go. Anyway, recruiting is a very long process with a lot of opportunities for things to go wrong. I’m hopeful that 2023 looks very different. We’ve seen that materialize in other 2nd year coaches such as Norvell at FSU. Sometimes it just takes time.
Hope this novella helps you baws in your anonymous message board squabble. You should be proud if you win. Maybe print off the threads and tape it to your fridge for your family to see over thanksgiving

I hope you noticed Jones I do not infiltrate this thread with the same talk about coaches. You need to lock this thread down to recruiting info only.

Seconded.

I’m still holding out hope for the 22 class to finish in the top15 to get us to 23. Top 15 won’t get us to where we need to be long-term but isn’t disastrous.

Notes:
- Yes, some of these guys are probably only seriously interested in Bama (Tony Mitchell). Same deal with the UGA game. But this list is long because Bama is Auburn's biggest game every year and it's always the best game day environment and coaches want kids to see that. The alternative is not taking the shot.

- This list will continue to grow and change. It's a fraction of who will be there and some guys will probably drop off. Just how it works.
- KN mentioned that he expects a bit more 4* & 5* guys to be added the day of the game but more will trickle in the next few days. It's still really early in terms of these lists
