Auburn offered ‘22 UR RB Andrew Paul from Dallas, TX
Looks like a late riser. KN has his stats: 174 carries, 1399 yards, 22 touchdowns.

Got some good size to him and impressive stats.

Stats are good. He’s got another few hundred yards receiving and 2 TDs there too.

quote:We'll be fine. If AU is still #35 or so come first signing period this might warrant a deeper discussion. Once we take the manhood of our last 7 opponents things will become more clear to you emotional weaklings. I hope none of you are salespeople IRL. Positive thoughts combined with genuine effort often results in positive outcomes. We're winning the whole thing. And if we don't, I'll level-set and recalibrate.
The staff has to pursue guys like Darius Clemons, Malik Agbo, and so on if we’ve got a shot. I don’t think that’s in question here.
But I do agree that AL/GA/FL has to be the focus and I think it has been. Especially in the ‘23 class where these coaches have had a full cycle to build relationships. They’ve gone where they have needed to for ‘22 to make the class work
That said, we need to raid a state when it makes sense. Right now, Louisiana needs to be that aforementioned gravy

Watched his mid-season hudl vid and looked decent. Strong runner, but he had some good cuts to him. Fast but not blazing speed, but had a good burst. Can't remember his name but there was a Florida running back a few years back that he looks similar to.

I also believe we will take a large number of transfers again. See last year's 9 transfers and most have played a lot and helped.
Demetris Robertson (Starter)
Tony Fair (Huge Addition)
Jordan Ingram (No Impact)
T.J. Finlay (Georgia State)
Marcus Harris (Starter HUGE Addition)
Donovan Kaufman (Good Pickup)
Bydarrius Knighten (Strong Contributor)
Dreshun Miller (Has not done much, not sure why)
Eku Leota (Big Pickup)
We had guys leave, but only Little Cat Bryant Daquan Newkir have been starters.

My personal opinion is that the portal helps programs in that #10-#35 range significantly, while having less of a return for those #1-#10. Those programs are already getting who they want anyway, and they have to do less projection with players when recruiting. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out after 5 years or so.

Look, it's time to accept we're F'd in recruiting this year. The possibility of hitting it big in the transfer portal means all hope is not lost but it's time to throw in the towel on hoping recruiting is going to turn around.

And the top 10 in recruiting get who they want out of the portal as well. Don't kid yourself.
Rankings 15-25 can be just the difference in 1 kid. To compete in the SEC west at the rate that Bama, LSU, and aTm are recruiting we need top 10 classes stacked on top of each other. aTm will finish the season with a top 5 class. They will be the big mover by the end of signing days.
#19 isn't a salvaged class it's a poor class as to Auburn standards. And I seriously doubt we get to 15 this year. Clemons and Woodyard were the big fish that was gonna bump our class. One is out and I really don't see Woodyard flipping unless Perry comes to AU. We are getting our asses handed to us in recruiting. Offensive linemen should be lining up to come to play early.

You’re pretty spot on, honestly. We’ll need to see how they close out 2022 but there’s a shrinking path toward a top 15 finish that we seem off track for. But often times the difference, as you mentioned, is just a guy or two. Top 20 isn’t a big deal because that should be relatively easy to obtain by sheer volume of guys added on top of what we have now.
Anyway, I’ve hoped to prepare everyone for this reality in ‘22 ever since before we even knew who the new coach was. Better days are probably ahead but for now we’ll see what gets patched together.
My confidence isn’t waning on Woodyard yet. He visits Bama this weekend so we’ll see how that goes. Most of the top guys we’re in for to close out this class are attached to another program in some meaningful way, even if it’s not a commitment. Clemons was a guy that was flippable if OU ever pushed, Antonio Williams’ parents went to OM, and so on. Gotta win some of those tough battles

I accepted recruiting for what it is long before today.

Honestly it feels like what little momentum was had built up after the Bobo/Harris commits has kind of stalled out. Not sure what the answer is, maybe beating the hell out of TAM this weekend, but we need something else to kind of jump start us for the rest of the year.
I think we will get Woody and flip a DB or two from LSU, but beyond that I really have no clue how this class finishes.

Yea I've obviously been down on it but had a fleeting moment of hope after the last couple of commits and a couple of flip prospects (Woodyard, Woody, Rhym) and getting Clemons and maybe Perry. Not feeling good about much anymore.

dumb*** kids do dumb*** kid things and commit to other schools - it happens. Just keep winning.
Posted on 11/4/21 at 6:35 pm to AUDevil
What are you trying to say that a kid committed elsewhere is dumb? I don’t understand your reply
Posted on 11/4/21 at 6:38 pm to CorchJay
Ahhh yes, the old "one kid we thought we were getting isn't coming, which means that no one else is coming too"

You’re so right. It’s just 1 kid we have missed on. Wake the frick up
