Wallace was a big miss.
There’s also
5* Barrett Carter
5* Smael Mondon
4* Prince Kollie
4* Ian Jackson
We were linked to 5* Terrence Lewis for a time as well but that recruitment was all kinds of weird

That list makes me depressed lol. The staff turnover made it near impossible to get those guys, but even 1 or 2 of them and the position would be set for a while.

and the RB that was committed to us then flipped to bama before that last dead period. I'm blanking on his name.

Well looks like we will still have to deal with Dell McGee.. Ga Southern is hiring Clay Helton lol. I was really hoping Dell would get that job.

just a kid that’s split on whether to play football or baseball and I’m not sure Auburn is really committing a lot of time to it
why can't we just let him play both sports at AU....? i don't understand that. if the kid can ball, let him do both. i know it's different than it used to be, but i really think it's just because people buy into that to begin with. idk, maybe i'm too naïve. i don't see a good reason not to let a kid play two sports if they are a great athlete at both.

He’s deciding between pitching or OT so he’s going to have to decide between bulking way up or slimming down.

Pitching in baseball and playing OL in football aren't at all mutually conducive athletic movements. The physical training alone is completely arse-backwards (ie: the practice of bulking him up with power-lifting movements to play OL would completely frick with any sense of pitching mechanics on the mound in baseball).
This isn't like a guy who plays WR in football and OF in baseball where there's no conflict of interest from a physical standpoint.

Yea Evans and the RB that was committed to us then flipped to bama before that last dead period. I'm blanking on his name. Those are the only two I have zero respect for.

Auburn made a big move with ‘23 4* DE AJ Hoffler following the OM game. They offered him right before the game
He’s at Woodward Academy, same school as Damari Alston.

I think we can cross off 3* LB Omar Graham Jr. Sounds like he didn’t participate in much during the OV other than go to the game with some family members.
He declined interviews at his OV but did a follow up with FSU guys. He seems locked in. This is a guy we haven’t really heard about since June so his OV was a bit of a surprise
Is this based off of something coming from AU writers at 247/Auburn? The reason I ask is because I just signed up for On3 for shits and giggles (it's $10 for a year, whatever) and they had a much more "open" report on him following his visit. I saw the Tweet he made after the game about being solid to FSU no matter what, but how much of that is deflection from the kid? He was a surprise/late addition as an official visitor, then declined interviews, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that he wants to downplay whatever interest he may have in flipping. Just like Tae Woody showing up to the AU HS/IMG game in Florida State gear and Tweeting that he's there to "see his QB" who's committed to FSU.

He did a really in depth interview with the FSU 247 guys yesterday and it just came across really thoughtful and detailed about FSU. He also said he was watching the FSU game on his phone while at the Auburn game
I think that plus he just showed up for the game and left makes me believe what he says about just wanting to use his last official to see a good game and take some family with him. How true is it? Hard to know. Hard to believe coaches would invite a kid to not participate in official visit activities but recruiting is a relationship game and maybe it’s a favor to his coaches in Ft Lauderdale, a trainer, who knows. This staff seems to be thoughtful about keeping doors open and being welcoming.
This is mostly my read on the situation. With Woody, the FSU guys have been saying for a while that they think he’s as good as gone. So do some of their current commits. Auburn wants him on the DL and that seems to be a big factor as well. He says he’s better on defense.
Just my thoughts. I know kids play games in recruiting and we always see an uptick when we’re just weeks out from NSD

All of that could be true, for sure. The On3 writeup mentioned that he was there in Auburn gear and was shadowed by coaches the entire game. When a coach wasn't there with him, recruiting coordinators were. He then declined pictures and an interview. Seems like a lot of attention made to a kid that was supposedly watching FSU's game on his phone...

Ultimately, needing to flip quite a few guys to get where we want to be in this class, this is going to be a common conversation for us until Dec 15

Remember Quinnen Williams was committed for awhile, more recently Demouy Kennedy and Quandarious Robinson.

Johnathan Atchinson lol - they took this guy just to keep Auburn from getting him. Not sure he ever played a down for them.
