Might be a good thing if a JR would stay with NIL and get better instead of listening to bad advice and not get drafted.

‘23 4* DE Tomarrion Parker (Phenix City) reached out to KN @247 to make sure his recruiting profile showed that he was interested in Auburn Current #100 player next season

KN took that opportunity to do a quick interview. In short, Parker visited for the Akron game and now plans to be back for the UGA game and Iron Bowl. He expected to leave the state for college but now Auburn is making him reconsider that.

Well he is basically in Georgia right now so Auburn would be like leaving the state.

I don’t think the kid ever sees the field for any meaningful snaps but he’s a good esprit de corps guy and I think he’ll help in recruiting

We gotta start winning these local battles though. AHS and PC are two producers and those should be locks for us.

I hope you’re right.

… and I hope that means that more freshman will become sophomores on the basketball team instead of jumping to the G-league too.

I think you are wrong. Of the kids that are lower rated in this class just by film alone he stands out. Has a big time motor and can play with his hand in the dirt. Plus you have to remember all film you see is not from his senior year and Auburn High has a really good coach with Coach Etheridge now. Kid isn't unathletic at all appears to be able to handle much bigger players he goes against.

That’s fair. I do think it’s an underrated intangible. You need a couple on either side of the ball to carry the water

Not sure what things are like now, but there has never been any love lost between AHS, Central and Opelika. Strangely it seems more Opelika recruits have played for and contributed to Auburn. It is almost like the wise up, Maybe they do year after from a very intense and back and forth rivarly game, depending, but there are also the back channel so and so from AHS is dating so and so from OHS, etc.

We never have or will have that relationship with Central. Over the years, ANY pull from Central PC to Auburn is rare and the exception.

If you want to go hoops, Mike Jones (Central to Oak Hill to AU if I remember correctly) was the last decent bball recruit from Central to AU, and that was a whole fiasco and drama. And that MAN had all the talent in the world. I watched him vs AHS from junior high.

Is this okay for two bottles of wine? WDE.

Some crootin' news to share

- Auburn has been talking to '22 in-state 3* ATH Deuce Spurlock. Recent offers from Michigan and South Carolina. Auburn is still evaluating him but he'll stop by for the Alabama State game on Saturday.

- '22 4* LB TJ Dudley did not make it to the Akron game but hopes to make it to the Alabama State game.

- '23 4* DB Sylvester Smith was at Akron and it looks like that helped solidify Auburn as a top school. He says they'll be a major factor in his recruitment. Loved what he saw from the defense and he says Tank ran up to him after his TD and yelled at him "Come to Auburn"

I saw Tank run to the recruit section and start pointing after his TD. I was curious if he was directly addressing the recruits or not. That’s awesome.

So much of the recruiting effort in 2021 is the ‘23 class. It’s kinda why I’m trying to help cool off expectations for 2022 because these coaches weren’t here 2 years ago.

And I’ll be the first to start bitching about it if the 2023 class ends up being a dud
