Auburn has offered JUCO OT Tyrone Webber
Currently in New Mexico but is from Canada.
KN has been saying for a while that we’ll need some JUCO and transfer OTs to balance the depth chart. We’re losing at least 7 guys on the line after this season and the OT position on the roster obviously has serious holes

Lanier Baits needs to get in on this shite. One of our Guido's needs to pay him a visit.

We saw from Gus that we really needed to be even better than the 8-12 range he was getting us to so obviously this class doesn’t get it done long term.
This is the only thing I disagree with you on. If anything, this just proves that Gus wasn't a good developer of talent. I think we can all agree that Harsin is going to be better at that. I would imagine an 8-12 ranking from Harsin would have us finishing in the top 10 for sure.

Also, Clemson was in the 20-30 range in recruiting when they signed Deshaun Watson and their success catapulted them to where they are now in W/L success and recruiting. The way Harsin/Bobo center their offense on QB play I would hope we could do the same at some point in the near future.

Average recruiting ranking last 5 years. (‘17-‘21)
Bama: 2
UGA: 2.2
Ohio State: 5
LSU: 6.8
Clemson: 8.2
Oklahoma: 9
Notre Dame: 12.4
Average recruit rating (‘17-‘21)
Bama: 93.72
Ohio State: 93.50
UGA: 93.25
Clemson: 92.55
LSU: 91.58
Oklahoma: 91.13
Notre Dame: 90.88
Auburn (Gus’s last 5, ‘16-‘20)
Average ranking: 9.6
Average Rating: 90.46
The teams above (except Auburn) have appeared in the CFP the last 5 years. Almost exclusively. Washington made it in 2016
You might look at those teams and conclude that Auburn, if recruiting maintains the way it has, is on the cusp. But, in my opinion, 8-12 only cuts it if you’re not in the SEC. And it took unprecedented alignment of talent for LSU to make the CFP once (and win) in the last 5 years with an average ranking/rating of 6.8/91.58.
So that’s why I rule out 8-12 working for Auburn (if the goal is to consistently make the CFP). Our division + facing UGA each year gives us a higher bar. I think we could pull off a season where we over perform our recruiting ranking but usually those are major alignments of talent and they’re not sustainable unless you’re consistently higher in the rankings.

AA7. As far as I know about Finkley is the new staff really hasn’t been communicating with him. He’s a strange dude but a stud with a high motor on the football field. I think Colorado is his leader right now. Just a different kind of bird.

Jonesy it's being discussed that Donaldson will only be Bball for now. Have you seen that actually being reported or just speculation?
Posted on 8/19/21 at 10:38 am to BigBlueAU
If I may….Christian Clemente reported that’s what he has been told. He is a new guy on the beat though
Posted on 8/19/21 at 10:39 am to BigBlueAU
I think it’s mostly speculation. Everything I’ve seen says he intends to, at least initially, play both. I would be surprised if he kept it up for long, though
