Hopefully he'd like a change of scenery. It is one thing to go to high school at like Auburn High or Opelika, it is a whole other to actual be on LSU's campus for school.
Definitely would be a tough pull though.

Our luck is he’d commit then get drafted top 10 baseball and go play professional ball

KN put in CBs for both Tre Donaldson and Darius Clemons. Both with a 5 confidence, but still fairly significant. Especially with Donaldson committing on the 19th.

KN talked to some commits earlier this week that were all pretty confident Clemons is picking Auburn

I think that first trip he has scheduled for the opener screams AU.

3 family members, 2 coaches, and a new commitment timeline says a lot

Man Clemons has a stout offer list. Hope we can get him. Seems like a heck of a player and a smart kid

Are we talking about Darrius Clemons WR from Portland Oregon?

Wasn't there someone making their announcement today?

That would be a recruiting shock to get a player from the west coast. I would assume this has to do with Harsin and some of his staff's western connections?
If Clemons sticks, I wonder if this would be our farthest commit/signee ever?

Harsin has been recruiting him hard from day 1.

One of the first offers from the new staff and Harsin has been recruiting him for years, before his ranking blew up.

There’s nobody on my radar for today.
4* S/PG Tre Donaldson, 4* WR Omari Kelly, and 5* SG Zion Cruz announce next Thursday

We’re pretty sure at this point that Kelly and Donaldson will join the class next Thursday. And we’re somewhat sure that Clemons and Bobo will be in the class sometime between now and mid September.
Adding those 4, Auburn would be in the top 25 with only 13 commits. If we take out our #1 kicker commit, the 12 others average rating is .8932 which is solidly a 4* class average. That’s not going to knock anyone’s socks off but it’s a solid base for the rest of this 2022 class.
A big question that remains unanswered is how many guys we’ll take in this class. A portion of the previous transfers occupy ‘22 scholarships that count toward our yearly 25 limit. That number is essentially unknown at this point because scholarship accounting is incredibly difficult to do from the outside

It seems like the portal has potentially made keeping up with this just as challenging for the people paid to do it

Sounds like apple needs to pay tuition for all walk-ons, and we can take as many as possible.

I think you guys need to give up on the whole Apple hooking us up thing. It’s not happening and if it did Cook would likely be replaced immediately

That is what BYU just did. ESPN Link

The BYU athletic department helped broker opportunities for every walk-on member of the football team to sign endorsement deals with a sponsor that would cover the cost of their tuition for at least one year.
The arrangement -- which is possible due to recent NCAA rule changes that allow college athletes to make money from their names, images and likenesses (NIL) -- was announced during a team meeting this week. All 123 members of the Cougars football program were offered an endorsement deal with protein bar company Built Brands

Scholarship players can receive $1,000 each for representing the company. The 36 walk-on players on the roster were offered what amounts to privately funded scholarships, although the players will be paid directly and can spend that money in any way they choose, according to associate athletic director Gary Veron.

4* OT Luke Brown is a guy KN thinks Auburn fans should be paying attention to. Sounds like he likes Auburn and Will Friend has been on him for a while now. He visited in June.
Another guy that to keep an eye on is 4* LB Robert Woodyard. He’s a long time Bama commit but he took an official visit to Auburn late June and was a visitor at BCW. Going to be a tough pull for many obvious reasons but multiple trips to Auburn this summer is a nice indicator of his interest.
