Good read on 247 concerning SEC transfers and Auburn in particular.
one blurb

And Auburn’s transfer additions have been well-regarded as some of the top players from the portal this cycle. On Wednesday, 247Sports updated its official transfer rankings for the final time this offseason, with 150 players named.
Seven of Auburn’s nine transfer additions made the cut.

Not sure if it means anything, but Fair deleted the tweet that had his commit date. Could just be unsure of the exact day.

OL Drew Bobo is going to commit later this month, after visiting Auburn for big cat and UGA one more time.
Seems like Auburn and UGA are his final 2
Also, sounds like Stinson will decommit. He committed the day after Gus was fired. The current staff definitely likes him but I think he’s UF bound to reunite with McGriff. Auburn-Opelika area recruiting continues to be a struggle
All per 247

Yep. I’d expect him to follow McGriff to UF. Really surprised he didn’t do that back in January when McGriff to UF was announced but him sticking around made me wonder

Evidently Etheridge didn't win him over. I guess it's hard when these 22 recruits have a strong relationship with their prior position coaches.
Like you said, i just pause to wonder why he waited till now. I know Stinson was here for a visit after his trip to FL. Once he had visited both places, he must have made his decision....

This has been coming for a long time though. Its just finally official. Surprised it took this long honestly.

Especially now that coaches start recruiting guys in 10th and 11th grade

Dukesthescoop on Twitter. This is the the guy that talks with Jboy a lot. Whether he actually knows shite or not I don’t know but here’s some tweets.

Ok so look. I think the new staff needed time to get accustomed to the lay of the land here which may have costed us with some recruits. This is a different ball game. But the positive thing is the revival of big cat weekend marked a turning of the corner in a lot of eyes.
quote:
The good. The schemes between Bobo and Harsin will allow us to run the ball against anybody. Think Minnesota against d brown and Davidson. Where we can’t outphysical you we will out scheme you. So the focus on scheme has been warranted. The season will tell but guys are excited.[/
quote]
Bad/ugly. The no fun/allball approach has turned some recruits off and led to a few guys that were projected as layups taking extended looks elsewhere. But the staff has taken heed to feedback & is looking to provide more of an experience in the future. Being able to pivot is key

So that last quote is interesting. As fans I think a lot of us like the idea of going more no-nonsense, all business, but selling that is probably more difficult. Saban can do it because he's earned the reputation. I wonder how the staff with adjust, because I hope it doesn't swing the other way.

I agree too.
Saban has now shown results from his no nonsense personality and work ethic, so players that want to get to the NFL and/or play every year for a college championship will come onboard with a no-nonsense coach.
Harsin, on the other hand, doesn't have that pedigree for now, so it's possible that his serious 'hard work' culture maybe turning some of these recruits off.
But on the other hand, What do these players that get turned off by it want anyway? Or is it an excuse they use when they really already planned to look elsewhere or commit to someone else.

You sell players on having fun. That’s why Tropper and Luper were so successful here. Kids had fun when they visited.
Now with that said, no one cares if your coach will dance in the locker room if you aren’t winning. The most fun thing you can do in football is win, but you can’t make every recruiting pitch feel like a post lunch PowerPoint presentation.

Good approach in the long run.
I'm wondering how Harsin ran his program at Boise? The same way he is doing here, such as a no-nonsense approach? How did his recruits act and decide to like it or not there?
Are Harsin's targets saying these things and exit interviews, saying their meetings and events are not fun enough, but too business like?
lol. A lot of questions, i know.

I follow the football instagram and twitter page and they're definitely not all business all the time. They've been doing things like having Iron Chef like cooking competitions(I think that's also for the nutrition staff to help them learn how to cook healthy at home) and "family bbq" with food and games.
That said, there are a lot more posts about "hard work" than that, but it seems to me that it's a good balance.
Obviously, we don't see everything behind the scenes, but you're not gonna win championships with fun and if that drives some recruits away, so be it.

I do wonder, though, if the presentation to recruits is all business whereas with the actual team there's a better balance.
