We took a transfer player just last year and turned into a first round pick. Samir Doughty almost helped us win a Natty. Broome has a chance to be all SEC this season. You can win with transfers even if you strike out on upper level high school guys

You cannot rely on a bunch of below average transfer players. See our awful situation at guard.

Walker Kessler was an exception. Broome is average and disappears in big moments.

Agreed about yesterday but that was one game. It’s just being overly emotional to view Auburn’s basketball in a negative light right now as a program.

The program is fine and dandy as long as you ignore February 2022-February 2023.

Some people just don’t understand what AU urn basketball was. It’s like Ole Miss winning 3 conference championships and going to the playoffs a couple times over a 5/6 year period in football making the championship game once. Or maybe a better comparison would be Miss St doing that.

Yes this season wasn’t what we wanted but most expected something similar. I thought we would drop a game to one of the crappy teams and beat a couple more Quad 1 teams. I called 11-7 prior to the season in conference and the Memphis and West Virginia games would be important. Didn’t know Northwestern would be a Quad 1 team.

And he’s creating a false dichotomy of thinking the performance of the last 12 months is good vs thinking the last 12 months is bad. We can all agree we haven’t played great basketball since mid SEC play last year. That doesn’t mean it’s time to press any kind of panic button. Our guards aren’t great right now. We all agree on that. Doesn’t mean it’s time to press any kind of panic button. We have 3 really damn good ones on the way over the next 2 years and some of us still believe in Westry.

How did Bama feel about their program from March 2021 - March 2022? Do you understand how you’re just unfairly basking in an average year?

Thanks for pointing out you can’t rely on below average players. No shite. This was all in the context of finding Jaylin Williams a backup 4 this season lol

I’m assuming pretty well, they were in the Sweet 16 and won the SEC Tournament in March 2021.

Yet a lot of their fans were acting about like you for that full calendar year saying Oats just lucked into Herb Jones and Petty and that was the only reason they were what they were that year. Ignoring the accomplishment it actually was and the incoming recruiting class while they watched an average team flounder on the bubble all year.

Point is you gotta take a step back and stop being so emotional.

Traore needs to be coached up with athletic aggressiveness.

A go to it attitude that makes you lay out for your best at each and every second. He obviously has the tools though a bit thin.

He has to score with some attitude. Shake their hands after the game. Become friends if it avails itself.

But on the court, do everything it takes to beat the other guy, the other team. He has the skills.

NCAA tourney hasn’t happened yet. I’m not sure where you’re confused in that. You keep giving them credit for something that hasn’t happened. On top of them being in the middle of a murder investigation within their program.

This is correct. Even their most rational fans were pissed at Oats and unsure of him.

Traore needs to be coached up

He’s raw.

I’m ok with that. He’s going to be a 3 year player IF we can develop the raw size into a real basketball player.

He’s away from home. He’s still relatively new to the game. This season was unlikely to see Traore develop into an all-American type player. Maybe he will become that with time and hard work.

Big gulf between having to be an All American and not even being able to get on the court and a team void of talent and depth.

Why does making the tournament matter? Wtf lol

I get the implications of making it but once we are one and done, everyone here will be all pissed.

Its kinda like sleeping with the last girl in the bar. It is a OK decision until itnt.

Auburn has been to the tournament 11 times in it's history. Any time we go it's a big deal. One and done or anything like that.

Last year we were a high seed and losing in the second round was a disappointment.

To put into context UAB started playing basketball in 1978 and has 16 tournament appearances.

Auburn started playing basketball in 1906.

More like 2021. Even Bruce said this team’s ten would beat the other ten.

Uhh… nah. He’s flat wrong, and anyone with eyes can see that.

He wasn't making any guarantees.. was just saying the way this team was gonna be successful wasn't from having a better starting 5 than the opponent.. but rather winning with a deep rotation. We suddenly looked a lot less deep when Westry and Traore never arrived. So neither our depth nor stars can beat good teams.
