Donaldson needs more experience but I love his game. He’s gonna be around for a while and we’re going to benefit from that

Agreed. He seems to be cut from the same cloth as Harper, McCormick, Brown, WG, Jasper, KD, etc...
should be fun to watch him progress.

I feel more confident playing on the road this year than last. I feel we are no better or worse than any of those teams. Bama is clearly playing better ball than any team in the league. I think 4-1 or 3-2, with the next 3 games for sure winners.

The one good thing about road games this year vs last… we don’t have that target on our backs that came with being top 3.

Slight pivot...

How about the lady tigers finally getting over the hump with getting the dub in Neville last night.

I'll never understand the NET rankings man. Do not understand how St. Mary's is #6 if you just parse through their results and look at their team sheet. Solid team but #6?

I think they modified it a few years ago and now the efficiency metrics are vastly over weighed. Good mid majors are going to have great efficiency numbers because they play really bad competition about 80% off the time.

It's still too early to start using metrics to come to any conclusions anyway. The season doesn't really start until Feb. Our F4 team was 13-6 overall and 2-4 in conference after the 3rd weekend. Last year we were 17-1 and 6-0 and destroying teams.

Definitely.

Correct. Especially for Auburn. The schedule is so backloaded, I still don’t know for sure what this team is.

All we've ever heard is you don't want to peak in January, especially from Bama fans. Don't enjoy it, they said, cause it doesn't matter. When you hit the snag in February, it's hard to get right again.

It is too early but they never seem to be early for mid-major teams. Houston will probably be top 3 all year like they were last year in the NET. They are the chief analytics darling but their results vs good competition have been pretty 50/50

How good is our next OOC opponent, West Virginia?

Not great but Morgantown is a really hard place to play and they are notorious for being physical as hell under Huggins.

Would love 5-0. Think 3-2 more likely.

Jan 25th Texas A&M - tossup
Jan 28th @ West Virginia - likely loss
Feb 1st Georgia - likely W
Feb 4th @ Tennessee - likely loss
Feb 7th @ Texas A&M - likely loss

I see the ceiling as 3-2. Floor is 1-4. A&M is a really solid team. I think we’ll be doing good to steal one of the road games and hold serve at home.

We’ve played well recently but the competition has been much worse than what we’re about to play.

They are 1-6 in conference play but have several close losses. And their win was against TCU who just beat the brakes off Kansas. Top 30 KenPom team on the road not going to be easy at all. I’d guess we will be Vegas dogs

I think WVU is better than their record. Don't ever take a Bob Huggins team lightly (not that anyone here is), he always seems to have a team that can beat anyone on any given day, especially in Morgantown.

I can't believe so many people are scared of A&M at home.

Don't think anyone is scared of them but it is definitely a losable game. And they've given us some issues in recent years.

We've lost 6 of 8 to them despite this being the best stretch of AU hoops history. 1-3 vs Buzz Williams led Aggie squads including a home and a neutral loss
