Any win is a good win with this group. I said a few weeks ago making the tournament should be the expectation and I still believe that

Golden spent more time speaking with his assistant coaches than his players during the last timeout. Didn’t really have much time to discuss the actual play he was drawing up.

Broome and Cardwell played a heck of a game defensively against Castleton. 1 of 6 from the floor.

Free throws must improve.

Turnovers must be reduced.

This team isn’t pretty but we are extremely comfortable winning ugly, and we are comfortable late in close games. Experience is helping a little to make up for lack of offensive prowess

We actually did not play selfish except for a couple instances. If we could get any consistency with KD and AF we could be ok

Yea that was a clear push off. Tonight showed that we can compete at home but I do worry about road games

Yeah LSU and Arky has been just as ugly as our game was. You just gotta hang in a lot of these and find a way. Gotta be tough and resilient

Good win. They’re going to be tough to come by this year every time we step on the court.

Watched Lebaron Philon a Junior for Baker (mobile) last night. Kid would be the best scorer on our team today. Flanigan was here watching him play a couple of days ago. He’s averaging about 40 a game in a 32 minute game playing 7A. Lived up to the hype. Would love Bruce to get this kid.

Combination of Castleton getting the star treatment and it being a late game situation where whistles usually get swallowed if I had to guess. Also could have seen that we got the ball and decided to not stop play.

I agree it was a foul but refs always swallow the whistle in those spots

you have a point - but I am willing to guess that if the situation was reversed I bet AU would have had a foul called on them...

In Quad 1 win watch news:

Remember as we seek to build our tournament resume with quality wins, Q1 = Home win vs Top 30, Neutral win vs Top 50, Road win vs Top 75

Northwestern is currently our only Quad 1 win (which is 1 more than I thought we had before checking). They are in good shape to remain a Q1 win sitting at 38 if they can win 6-8 B10 games.

Washington is currently 116th and we need them to rise all the way to 75th to be Q1. Florida is 65th and it'd be tough sledding to get them to top 30. Bradley is 68th and we need them to get top top 50.

Those are the only games in the bag that have chances at Q1.

Upcoming games with Q1 potential:
Arky (currently 14th) January 7th
@LSU (75th) January 18th
@ West Va (10th) January 28th

I feel like KD, Zep, & Flan are the same players they've always been. Zero development beyond where they started.

I'm also no expert, so...

Those are tough sledding.
