I don't know how good he is, but I don't think we needed him at all. I don't get it.

1 year scholarship player that fills a need. Supports the idea that Joiner is looking good at RB. Also emerged as a need with one of our incoming freshman TEs having a leg injury. Wilson won’t just be a blocking back like Cox. He’ll catch passes and line up on the line

Fills a void at HB looks a lot more versatile than Cox

Hopefully he won't miss near as many open field blocks as Cox.

Whats not to get, we will now have six people at a position we rarely use. Or we can move Joiner to rb and have six people fighting over one position, sans the carries Swartz and Stove get.

Probably need them though, with the lack of OL talent/depth.

Seriously, Id take a warm couple bodies on the OL before another TE/HB/FB hybrid. And if someone tells me he is filling a spot for a year, then what the heck are the other five guys doing, filling a spot for four years?

UGA 247 thinks 4* RB Mark-Antony Richards now has a top 2 of AU/UGA. Kirby selling Richards on being the next Alvin Kamara. Also Scott Fountain was the area recruiter for his brother when he was at AU so there's a connection there too

Also nothing concrete on Pickens from visits. Just Rusty speculating that UGA must have a chance since spending time recruiting Pickens

Pretty much that. They will be end line blockers in the heavy formation. We for sure know we are not going to attack the middle of the field with a TE or attempt to get a mismatch of a TE on a CB.

WTH would Kirby know about Alvin Kamara. Don’t coaches usually sell players on previous players they actually coached?

I'm gonna assume AU is getting a grad transfer to start at OT next season with Troxell unless whatever is going on with Ashley is settled or Sammons has the switch flip,
Unless they find an undergrad transfer or 2 they like in this class which I think is the staff's preference. FWIW the last 2 undergrad OL we took in Golson & Darius James did not come to AU til their respective Summer semesters & were not known about til the immediate May before so there is still time for the staff to find undergrad transfers. There will be more transfers across the nation after Spring ball & Spring terms.
