If he's not, I can see how it could still work out for us. Just stay in it and be consistent with him while Bama and UGA go up and down with him... Could end up being the makings of a surprise on signing day.

He does plan to commit & sign in December whether he's an EE or not.

Random note from a Rivals article on Clay Webb

A Clemson coach sends him poetry

Also Kipp Adams of UGA 247 believes UGA leads for Webb but that AU is in 2nd

FWIW Bama ppl seem to think Tide lead & Clemson are 2nd

There are Clemson ppl who seem to think they now lead

Basically no one really knows what the kid will do & considering he won't decide until December plenty will change

Well Webb is apparently coming to Au vs Washington on a non official visit and setting an official visit to Auburn.

Rumor has it if he was to decide today that he would choose auburn.

I will believe this junk when he commits, signs, enrolls, goes through spring practice, starts a few years, and then graduates.

Alabama’s guys always seem to know more than the rest.

Auburn could sure use him.

The rumor mill, clearly. Doesn’t that mill have like a 100% success rate?

Recruiting reporters have been saying all along that Webb is a different than your typical high profile AL high school prospect...

But I’m like everybody else and will believe it when I see it.

Someone posted a while back that Grimes has really made up ground in our recruitment of Webb. I think some beat writer had said Grimes was Webb's first offer ever, so there is a relationship there. So, if nothing more we'll have a fighting chance at him, he isn't a lock anywhere.

I don't think they have by any means. He could very much still end up there when it is all said and done. I think Webb is just one that goes about recruiting differently. I don't think he is one to get enamored with anyone, leaving everyone else to constantly be fighting to replace them. Seems like he is giving every team he is interested in a truly fair chance. I think he knows he can go to any of his schools and achieve whatever personal goals he has.

I'm hesitant to say it because he is quiet about his recruitment and appears genuinely open but no matter how the season goes, I think the broken record will be playing in December. My expectation is that he starts liking us or Clemson into the last quarter of the season, Bama (or UGA with Smart having done this for Saban) swoops in with a short duration, maximum all-out effort and pulls him in December.
