Not only do we have only 1 player drafted for the second straight year, but now we're willing to accept scrubs from other programs.

This is embarrassing.

I personally don't think he fits the system well. I think his size will get him rocked if he even thinks to run.

I don't know why everyone is praising him all of a sudden. 2 weeks ago practically everyone on here said they didn't want him and would pass in a heartbeat. It's like some people are trying so hard to talk up an average player to make themselves feel better for fall. FWIW, I think he's miles ahead of Frazier and Wallace and I think we should take him (why not?). But if we want to win big(9-10 wins) I wouldn't play him. I just keep imagining him against Alabama or UGA.

I think he'll be decent but he does NOT deserve the excitement that everyone seems to be shedding upon him

Hmmm...I agree.

It's kinda like when Joe Flacco was a scrub at Pitt and had to transfer to Delaware..

Or Brandon Jacobs, that scrub couldn't get on the field here, went to Southern Illinois...

Or the biggest scrub of all, Cam Newton...his sorry arse was 3rd string at Florida...

'member them?

Chris Todd fit the system pretty well. Malzahn's O doesn't have to have a mobile QB to be successful.

I personally have wanted him from the start.

So u would play one of the guys that are miles behind, the true frosh, or the cornerback? Not buying it. He gives us the best chance to get close to 9-10 W's.

Well imagine all the rest. That ain't pretty either.

Decent's the best we can do right now. We have to start somewhere.

He's not exactly a scrub. He's not a world beater but I would say he's at least an average QB. What we have on the roster right now are scrubs.

I can;t talk details til after Clint chooses a school but relax people. It would benefit Auburn and Clint if he chose Auburn even if he never starts. It's not necessarily about the starting QB.

USF lost BJ Daniels so they have a qb need as well.

So who would you prefer us start?

I don't know why everyone is so against it. I would rather take some "scrub" from another school over the two we have on campus. If you watch the video of FSU's offense against Clemson's defense I don't know how you say that "we don't need him." The only way Trickett wouldn't start is if Marshall comes in and just starts lighting things up and grabs the offense quickly.

If he can make a few plays a game and keep us competitive (within <17 point losses) to LSU, UA and UGA then win us the games we should win, I'll take him

I'm not sure on the Trickett thing, but I will say this: If Malzahn takes him then he has no faith in the two on campus being even serviceable. I don't think he is awesome but I do think he is serviceable enough to help us. it will be interesting to see what happens to the other quarterbacks if Trickett comes and gets the nod to start.

Per JH. Trickett is done with visits and likely will have a decision in the next few days. His hunch is USF or WVU.

I agree, I just meant in my previous post that to win the 9-10 games he shouldn't be our starter. Unless 6-7 wins is what everyone is okay for. I believe he's better then Frazier and Wallace and would pick him anyday. But I want a QB who we can develop to be great and who can spend some time here (JJ or NM)

Wasn't WVU out?

Don't know anything about that guy so that's why I said FWIW when I originally posted it.
