Just saw where Corey Thomas flipped from State to TN. Any idea why we weren't recruiting the kid? Good instate DL/DE prospect that two other SEC schools were battling over.

Is this for real? Are you really equating what we do here to be the same as the coaches of AU football?
Not sure if serious?

He was here for Wazzu game. He needs some S&C but will be a good DT in a few.

I just don't think he can look past what we are doing this year. I hope I am wrong.

DQ quotes per the afore mentioned AUR article. LINK
quote:
My next official visit will be to LSU next weekend against Texas A&M. LSU and Auburn are my main two schools," Williams said. "Then I'm going to the Iron Bowl (Nov. 30).
I'm committed to Auburn and that's where my heart's at. I'm only taking one more visit to LSU and if I don't like it there, I'm 'War Eagle' all the way.
With Nick Marshall coming back and Zach Mettenberger leaving, that's big right there. I'd rather be with a veteran quarterback than a freshman or sophomore quarterback,
The players, like Quan Bray and Nick Marshall, they were saying they were going to build something special on my visit," said Williams. "I was listening and this is the boat I wanted to be on right here. Listening to the coaches, they said they were going to work hard and get better. Auburn's getting better and we're going to compete for national championship.
But I like LSU because it's home. My mom can get to the games easy, we don't have great transportation and it's a short drive. I have to make a decision where I feel comfortable. Either way, she'll be behind him whatever school I pick.
If I was to come in, or when I come in there, and they're running and running play-action, with Sammie Coates on the other side, nobody could stop that. I've paid attention to Sammie. When I watch the game, I learn from him. That's a player I'm going to end up playing with and I can learn from him,
As they win, that builds my confidence," William said. "That makes me want to stay committed. Gus Malzahn is doing a good job and this is just his first year at Auburn. In his second year, we'll have better players and when I come in, I'm going to lead. Coach Malzahn is one of the best coaches, he's cool, calm and collected. That's the coach I like and I want to make plays.
It's the game I play and live and die for, I give up my body for. It's my only way out so I have to make it. I can't make any mistakes, there's no margin for error," he said. "Everything happens for a reason. It's in the past and now I'm ready to ball, step up and be a man. When that play needs to be made, I'll make that play. Point blank, period.
I wanted to start something new. Being in Louisiana and playing in Alabama, I wanted to build something," said Williams. "Nick Marshall, a good quarterback. Sammie Coates, a good wide receiver. Quan Bray, Coach Craig, Trovon Reed, to be around them, I feel comfortable around them.
I talked to him and he was telling me about playing defense at Georgia and getting kicked off and transferring to Kansas," Williams said. "Now he's at Auburn and he's making big plays, and I'm trying to be like that with him. Like big, big plays. Whatever you need, throw it in my area and I promise I'll catch it.
To get to choose between Auburn and LSU, it's a blessing, but Auburn's where my heart's at right now,

Wow. Damn I like this guy. I follow recruiting, but do not get that caught up in it and stuff a recruit says only catching my eye every so often. Lawson did last year the way he handled his recruitment and Earnest Robinson a couple of years ago, but now I really want DQ.
He seemed to be very honest and straightforward that he is considering LSU, his plans, and the reasons (honest ones) why it is LSU or AU right now.
This guy is a HUGE immediate difference maker. I am talking potentially the difference between an undefeated season or not next year. We are going to be good enough to run the table next year. DQ on one side and Coates on the other could put us over the top. Maybe, who knows, but DO WANT.

So you are not committed to Auburn, gotcha.
I hope he has a shitty time then.

This. Having a consistent playmaker downfield will require opponents defenses to be more honest. Our rushing offense will look even better.
This kid would be crazy not to come to Auburn. If he's anything close to what's advertised Gus will be getting him XBox-like numbers a la 2013 rushing numbers.

That sounds a whole lot more positive than I was expecting. I wish he was coming this weekend though. It'll be much easier to pass on UGA

LSU loses both Landry and OB, right?

DW knows that he can have a Cordelle type season and be in the pros in a year.
Prob get more balls thrown his way than at AU.

Whats up with Stephen Roberts? Talked to some Bama buddies this weekend and even they're ready for him to flip to us
