Well, I knew who you were talking about then, but now I'm asking ... dish, the info. If you can.
I already did. Nothing to add to it other than if Casher does not come up to watch Whitfield it is a telling sign because he went up to Bama to watch Whitfield last month.

Oh, okay. Misread.

When you're named #1 in the country at your position, that's heady stuff. And hitching your wagon to saban ain't so illogical.

Would like to have Casher, but wouldn't lose any sleep if we lost him

my feelings as well... who's gonna sweat an undersized OG/C in July? That's not to say we don't need quality offensive linemen, but the coaches aren't ignorant of the situation and have time to find quality guys to fill our needs.

and as someone mentioned earlier, if he wants to go be be one of eight OLs bama takes this class, then have at it.

I am not thinking he is solid but he doesn't need to come watch his brother every camp. I want to my sister's gymnastic meet once to support her but I wouldn't go again. It is the summer, I'm not going to sweat a kid not wanting to go watch a camp. Also, during with bama isn't the end of the world.

Also Trre will be on him

Regardless if we can replace Casher or not. It sucks that we keep getting cherry picked every damn year by them.

Reason I gave up following recruiting. Half of these bastards will be swayed and played by Bama and flip on us. I just hope this staff has the balls to tell the player to GTFO early in the process so it doesn't leave us hanging like Chizik did.

People in general are stupid to begin with. People that aren't even 18 yet are worse. Not to mention that most of the kids we're talking about aren't even on an average level of intelligence for kids going to major universities. Anyone that gets too upset/emotional over the things they do doesn't need to be following recruiting to begin with.

The bammers need a couple a doses of mortal recruiting classes to see if their coach and coaching and program are as great as everybody thinks they are nowadays.

But that they don't suffer these less than supernatural classes is part of the reason why recruiting is so fascinating. That bama is a machine. That they get every kid they want. That being the "other school" in the state, our staff has to do work to put together the class they hope to sign, and go through these scares and battles to hold on to commits.

If I were a bammer, I don't think I'd follow recruiting as much as I do today, or at least I'd be less interested. There'd be no drama, no suspense. It'd be great getting the talent they get each year and not have to worry about the level of talent on next year's team, don't get me wrong, but that's not the point of following recruiting as far as I'm concerned. And there'd be no reason to follow it. I'd probably just tune in on signing day to see if we defended our recruiting title.

Closing like this staff closed last class and finding kids like Deshaun and White and Raashed and Truitt more than make up for losing a Casher here and there.

Our own previous staff proved recruiting talent ain't enough. Like it or not Bama does not only recruit well, they develop talent well too.

I feel better about this coaching staff's ability to recruit and win than I have in the past 8–10 years. It's impossible for me to say for example that Yeldon made a terrible mistake going to Alabama instead of Auburn. Our records speak for themselves. The problems we've had has nothing to do with Alabama, it has to do with our coaching staff and how the program is run, or at least that's my opinion. Coaching and winning will take care of recruiting just as it did for Alabama, Florida when Spurrier took over, even Mississippi.

It will get better if these guys can win.

I'm still feeling pretty good about Evans. I think in the end he'll be with us.

IMO, Rashaan is playing games. I'd be surprised if he doesn't sign with Auburn

I agree on Evans (by no means an expert). I just have a gut feeling that Evans, Casher...... dare I say "R. Thomas, a lot of these guys are watching Auburn to get a feel on how the program will go. We just came off an 0–8. If I were a 17 year old 4* or 5* athlete I would be cautious as well. After last year's recruiting class plus the commitments we have now I'm feeling pretty good all things considered.

I would hate to lose Evans because it seems to be one of our greatest needs. Casher would hurt because of his talent but not a disaster.
