I have to correct a mistake I made earlier. It was 4 am when I read the article so I read it wrong. White plans to visit Auburn between the 10th and 12th, not before the 10th. The timeline is either Harris visits first or they visit at the same time.

Since he visits before Harris, do you think this will be a situation where if he throws well and wants to commit, they will immediately accept? Wait until Harris visits and decides? Or just accept White's commitment on the spot and shut things down with Harris altogether?
Not relevant as part of my OP was incorrect.

Feet don't get slower than Chris Todd and he was succesful in Gus' O in 2009.

Not according to Coach Rhett Lashlee. he believe them to be quick enough to extend play's in the pocket and tuck and go when necessary. He also make very quick decisions and did I mention the NFL type passes and exacting accuracy? Per Dilfer" He doesn't just throw a skinny post. He sends a message with the skinny post."

I know evryone has been waiting so here it goes; Give White the QB offer. Period. If anyone else wants in so be it. But a kid that wins multiple State Titles in FL and has the smarts that Sean White has with the arm to go with it has the ability to be a Star in a CGM/CRL offense. Period. Seems like a logical guy to "back-up" JJ should the need arise. We could certainly do worse IMO.

Give me an accurate QB over the best semi-accurate DT QB any day. Accuracy is the only thing Bama's QBs have been winning on.

but our offense isn't built like that... McCarron in Gus's system would be very average... and likewise, Cam in Saban's system wouldn't have been used to the best of his abilities.

For better or for worse, our current offense relies heavily on the QB to make plays... and it's at its peak with a dual threat.

Doesn't every offensive system rely heavily on the Web to make plays? Even the triple option the qb has to make plays and the correct reads.

Auburn's wishbone never had what you'd call an awesome QB... neither did bama's... granted, that's way before my time, but you don't hear about those guys 30 years later like your hear about all of AU's amazing RBs... or someone like Johnny Musso at Bama.

Different offenses require different skillsets... White could really do well in our system, but it's guys like Jeremy Johnson who are gonna help us reach our peak.

A good coach adjusts to the type of team he has around him. Plenty of successful Gus Os have not had the fleetest of foot QBs. Also, having an ultra talented passer will open up other options that we havent had before. Chris Todd was a decent passing QB, imagine having a stud. If he cant tailor the offense to a QB who doesnt run like Cam, I think we have bigger problems at our OC/HC level.

I'm not saying his offense can't be good with a less than mobile QB, but he needs to be elite in other areas, IMO... namely arm-strength.

Respectfully disagree with part of that. As accurate as AJ is he would be succesful in most offenses that requires accurate throws while not having the strongest arm, The threat of Gus' run game in general opens up windows for accurate passes and while having a DT QB is great you don't compromise accuracy for a more run option. The speed of our offense alone with make the run game with RBs enough where having a DT QB is not needed although it is nice to have.

Paul Smith and Doug Johnson's 49 and 48 pass TDs each in 2007 and 2008 under Gus at Tulsa in the pass happy version of his O disagrees with you.
