Top performers at Under Armour according to 247:
quote:

4. Rashaan Evans (Auburn, Ala./Auburn): In a setting like this, running backs and linebackers have a hard time standing out. That being said, it was evident that Evans can do just about anything you want him to do on the football field. Playing at linebacker after playing most of his snaps at defensive end the last two years, Evans showed sideline-to-sideline range and his recovery speed is good enough that he would not look out of place playing strong safety, even at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds. One on rep, he flashed explosive ability at the point of attack, knocking Cameron Robinson flat on his back. He’s has elite physical talent.

Former NFL Pro Bowl LB LaVarr Arrington on five-star Rashaan Evans: “Rashaan Evans is a beast. A beast. He is a special player – if he keeps learning he can do it. And by do it I mean he has a chance to play on Sundays. He has great range, he is so versatile and he has that ‘something’ about him.
quote:

6. Braden Smith (Olathe, Kans./Olathe South): Smith was barely edged out
for first day top performers by Hootie Jones, and on Tuesday he continued to impress at guard. His brute strength allows him to overpower defensive linemen off the line of scrimmage, locking them out in pass pro and driving them into the second level on run plays. Smith has put himself into the argument with Roderick Taylor for top interior offensive lineman at Under Armour practice so far.
quote:

9. Racean Thomas (Oxford, Ala./Oxford): As mentioned above, running back is not a position that gets many opportunities to shine in an all-star practice setting. But the receiving ability and rare acceleration by Thomas cannot be ignored. He is so extremely shifty that even the smallest crease can result in a huge gain downfield. When he turns it outside, Thomas hits the corner with extreme explosiveness and his cutback ability makes it very difficult for defenders to get a clean hit on him.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, we need Evans

Definition of an immediate impact player.

I'd imagine he starts off at guard then moves to Tackle. He clearly can play at a high level on the line and has athletic abililty

ESPN notes

quote:

, Kalvaraz Bessent (Kingsland, Ga./Camden County), Nick Watkins (Dallas/Bishop Dunne) and Peppers can lock up and keep pace with every receiver on the roster, which has created terrific one-on-one battles.

quote:

. ESPN 300 guard Braden Smith (Olathe, Kansas/South) is a big, strong player and pass-rushers found little success trying to overpower him. He displayed a strong punch with good placement and when he was able to get locked on he could consistently anchor and control rushers.

quote:

OLB Rashaan Evans (Auburn, Ala./Auburn): When he settles in at outside linebacker, his stock will soar. Don’t forget, he can still play end, too.

Roc Thomas catching out of backfield and some moves

quote:

Derek Tyson
#Auburn QB commit Sean White has looked great throwing the ball today. #UAAllAmerica

Roc running through a small opening

Stepehn Roberts and a few others if there will be a defensive Heisman winner in the future

quote:

Auburn cornerback commit Steven Roberts (Opelika, Ala./Opelika): That’s a tough question, man. I say yes, though. Defensive backs go through a lot. They are sticking good receivers every play and have the chances to make big plays. It will take a lot of interceptions and being an all-around playmaker.

quote:

Auburn quarterback commitment Sean White (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University): Yeah, sure, if a defensive player makes a lot of plays and cause turnovers; probably like a corner or defensive back that makes a lot of big interceptions. It’s happened before, so I do think it can happen.

Jerraud Power and Pat Lee were pretty damn good cornerbacks for Auburn under Will Muschamp...

Yeah the lockdown CB absent for a decade statement is definitely inaccurate.

Rogers was the one I was referring to. We have had some good corners since him but not really any guys that teams were scared to throw to. Rogers was a first round pick as are most true lock down guys and I'm not sure we have had even a second round pick from the corner spot since. Powers has had a good NFL career, has anyone else?

He's a young barner. He probably hasn't seen a great Auburn Defense before

While I realize the process is fairly political and BS (hell Clowney was "First Team All SE this year ), I'll play devil's advocate

I believe the only three people (I quickly scanned the lists) to be recognized as All SEC since Carlos Rogers and Junior Rosegreen in 2004 in the defensive backfield have been David Irons, Will Herring and Walter McFadden

Our DBs' recent history has not been very illustrious

I remember him doing work against Julio Jones and Alshon Jeffrey. But y'all are right. I didn't pay attention until 2007 and I didn't really pay attention until this year.

Even my sunshine pumping self wouldn't go there.

E, no I didn't take your statement like that. There were a few folks who had ?'s, we may have 0 NSD surprises but the names I gave were most likely canidates based on my peeps.

Gettind Braden Smith to visit is big. He has not been wowed by anyone I don't think. Said not having been to a game didn't matter. He also compared our run game with his HS.
