All I can think of is how big of a dumb@ss foster looks with that auburn tattoo now. I'm going to bet he doesn't make it at bama.

In a week it wont matter one bit. Only to the people with a axe to grind.

He made a smart decision. He just went around the world about it.

I think people forget how much of a miracle it was for Auburn to get Foster in the first place. Because of the benefits he was getting in Lagrange and how deep they had their claws dug in, he never would have been able to come to Auburn without moving schools. Trooper saw an opportunity with the coaching change at Lagrange and helped Foster make the move. The money flow stopped and Foster was able to make a decision on his own. I am sure the cash has started to flow again, so now he feels he needs to make a "business" decision. I have no ill will towards Foster. The games that grown men play on these kids would make it hard on anyone, much less a a young black kid that doesn't have anything to begin with.

I didn't wait for the Foster stuff last night, so just now catching up on the announcement.

Meh.

I see where reports (from Clemson) have come out that Monty has picked us. If so, hell yes!

Lawson + Adams? Easily the top 2 wants of this class all the way back to last Feb.

Overall, great news today IMO. Two most talented players we have been recruiting the past year, both on defense, and one DT and one DE = HR. Never thought we would be looking this good a few days ago (even when I expected Foster to us).

Agreed. When you take last season and the coaching change into account, this class will be very good.

FTR, don't get me wrong, wanted Foster. Big position of need for us. I just think Monty A is the bigger get if we in fact get him.

BTW, if you haven't read this about the Alexander bros, it is a GREAT read.

Cass and Frost have more than enough talent to give us solid linebacker play these next few years. We'd likely only have Foster for 3 anyway, so I'm not too disappointed. Toney will be a good one as well.

We need SEC-caliber linemen much more than linebackers, in my opinion, now that we're rocking the 4-2-1 instead of the 4-3. Hopefully Lawson turns out to be the second coming of Jadaveon Clowney.

You're really going to bring up money? I hate when fans do this. We lose a recruit so he HAS to have been paid. Give me a break. The "business decision" would be to go to the school that is currently pumping their players into the NFL vs. the one that went 3-9 last season and struggling to get its players in the NFL. Not a hard concept.

This.

But also, my want list started with Lawson, then Adams, Alexander, Foster.

So, if we miss on Adams and Alexander, I'll be more upset.

Look, no disrespect, but Foster was getting paid at Lagrange. I have no clue if he is now or not. It happens everywhere, so no reason to get upset. It is time to let him go and wish him luck. I will be very happy with the guys our coaches are bringing in. Thanks for that article TiM. I enjoyed it.

One other thing to note, a great defensive line will make the LBs look a lot better. Right now we are looking like we MAY sign the best overall DL class of the past 10 years for us - if things fall into place with Lawson, Monty, Bowers or Daniel (doubtful both), JUCO Bradley and maybe Johnson.

We have not signed a five star defensive lineman in the past 11 years since rivals has existed and ranked players that has actually set foot on the field (Greg Smith didn't qualify and JUCO Raven Gray pretty much threw in the towel after a few practices).

Seems to me that Bower signing at 8am kills the rumor of him waiting to see where Daniel goes.

In that case I hope we get both

Getting Adams and the Alexander bros gives us a crazy good def class...remember we already have a 300 lb dt on campus.

Regardless of how we finish up, I think this was a good class. Yes, if we had kept Trooper we would have had Foster, BUT that appears to be the only major loss. I expect a major flip every year. It was not worth keeping Trooper to keep one player, so lets move on. I will be happy with the men that choose to wear the Orange and Blue.

What sux is losing Trey Johnson too

Too bad James Hearns wouldnt qualify but is Cunningham still an option?

Im not a huge fan of his size but he would fit the Star role and we need a third backer.

It's at 9:30, and honestly, I don't think Bower is coming to us.

Tashawn Bower ?@TashawnBower
Whatever rumors going around about where il sign are false. The school I will sign to will be announced Wednesday. Not saying who in advance
